Does anyone else suspect a correlation between the increased frequency of these "stray bullets" and the 100 yard rifle range restriction?

Maybe shooting at closer targets increases the chance of a ricochet?  Longer distances diminish the energy at impact than shorter distances.

Just a thought...

I beg to differ. Caldwell has been, and I suspect he'll continue to be, a strong supporter of shooters and efforts to improve the range.

I just called my friend at KHON about getting a news crew down there tomorrow. Waiting to hear back about it.
Regardless, as many of us as possible should go. I'll be there.

Also, log into all these news source comments and inform the misinformed that the idea of projectiles leaving the range is not very likely and the reporter of these incidents is suspect.
good idea very important point.

it was suggested to me by a lurker that works in advertising, that we all call the tv, radio, and newspaper news tips lines
we need to let them know that people are interested in this issue and it deserves coverage

RUTA time... I'll be there.   My hope is many will turn out and the "temporary closer" is just that, temporary.   And just for my own warm fuzzy... Have ANY of these stray bullets, ricochets, etc. been 100% tied to the complex or is everything (including the 2 recent incidents) under investigation?

Mahalo, cya you guys tomorrow  :shaka:

That really sucks . If there is a way that time for maintenance could be volunteered . We as a group should get together and do this . I for one hardly if ever go there but willing to help get this fixed . Could possibly get my hands on a few heavy equipment and welders .

This ruined my planned range day...  I'll be there.  I hope we have a good turn out.

Acctually they fixed the roof fairly quickly, by govenment standards, when it blew off.  In large part, IMO, because of the people here on this forum putting in their two cents...  it is possible.

guys (and gals)
remember, our goal here is to show that we support keeping the range open
while it might seem fun to show up in full tactical gear, or a "molon labe" or "cold dead hands" or confederate flag t-shirt
we need to show we are concerned citizens that represent a cross section of the public
and we have lots of friends and family THAT VOTE
we need women, children, people of all ages to show up

while we know that the news media will focus on people making noise and accusations, try not to be like "unkle" and get on tv (unless you really want to)
let's all be respectful and peaceful and show our concern

I really hope no baffles are introduced...I would rather (for as much as I dislike them looking over my shoulder) have more RO's then a baffle.
