I spent a couple hours with VISSC at the Ukumehame pistol range on Maui today.
They had an IPSC type match. I reconnected with some old time shooters from the 80's.

Nice and flat - look how close you can back your vehicle to the benches.  For all the folks thinking 'whats the big deal?' - wait till you get old or have a problem with your knees.

Was an awesome morning in the range. Thank you to the black powder guys for their hospitality. Good thing I didn’t miss with “$5 per miss” gun.

Thank you again for those. Can’t believe I forgot that! :facepalm:  I have lots too and went to pick up some specially for zeroing these guns.

I was on silhouette side on the weekend, got there early about 0730
was shooting 357, 45acp, and 22LR.  I like to shoot the semiauto on the right side of the bench so it can be caught by the net that's there or at least not go too far for me to retrieve.  and i'll shoot the revolver on the left side bc the brass doesn't go anywhere
then next to me on the left arrives a guy who regularly brings tourists there to shoot.  I'm assuming this, but its pretty obvious
after not too long of them being there, the lady says "can you move your revolver to the other side bc the powder is hitting me in the face"
so I reply, "ok."
the weird thing is that they are shooting a Ruger Super Redhawk, and a 50AE.  so theyre getting hit by their own powder no doubt as well.
but I'm a polite guy, and I dont want to start any conflict with anyone if I can avoid it, especially at the range.  If I can solve the problem easily I will.
but it was kind of irritating, bc if she knows that the powder is hitting her, why don't YOU move to the left side of YOUR bench to avoid getting hit by the powder
when there is someone next to me shooting a .50 or 454 or something big, i'll just wait until theyre done shooting their cylinder or mag or whatever, then i'll shoot.  no big deal, doesn't bother me.
I get hit by powder all the time, doesn't bother me.
if you don't want to get hit by powder, don't come to the range, lady!

Anybody know why there were police and ambulance there on Sunday. I was at the trap range and looked across, the ambulance was by the silhouette side and three cop cars between rifle and pistol.

I was told that the woman had been hit by something. Don't know what? She had a very minor gash/cut on her temple area. Supposedly went to emergency to be checked out to make sure something was not embedded.

went to rifle side over the weekend.  was there from 0800-1000
was shooting my bolt action and AR, shooting only 55 grain .223 that day
when I pick up my targets at the end, I see theres a crack in the left side wood frame and theres a bullet head stuck right in the middle
first I think, that's strange it didn't go all the way through and also I'm surprised I hit the frame bc my optics are all sighted in already
after I go home, I take out the bullet head and weigh it.  it weighs 120.8 grains.  so its not from my rifles
it was probably from the guy on the right of me shooting an older rifle with iron sights who seemed to be sighting it in that day
he missed his target by over 10 feet!  buggah owes me a target frame too!!!
