I went to the range on Tuesday using some new boolits someone gave me. BIG mistake. They were for 38 Special but I thought I would use them in my 357 Magnum. After loading 15 I did all the usual checks of OAL and dropping them into the cylinder and everything was VERY close to being too long but I felt comfortable with them. I loaded 200. On the 21st round my revolver jammed. I couldn’t open the cylinder either. After looking I found a round that was a blonde hair too long. I used a range rod and a hammer to tap the boolit in a tad so I could open the cylinder. After measuring it, I went through and there were a few more. The boolit itself was a lot longer from the crimp groove to the tip than my usual boolits. So I took apart 179 and reloaded them with my usual preferred boolit.

Went back to the range today with a couple of new loads using 4.2 grains of trail Boss for a light target load and 5.5 grains of Unique for a low end magnum load. Both loads were under a 158gr LSWC powder coated boolit.

Both targets are 40 rounds each at 30’ two handed firing single action slow fire. The first target are the target loads and second target are the magnum loads.

Probably 1 or 2 pm pistol side.
Need more practice.

Cool. I like to get there early, setup and relax a bit before making noise. 

i'm going to try and go Christmas eve, not sure i'm going to make it bc might have last minute gifts to round up but if I can make it i'll go pistol side shoot the 1911 but conserve ammo.  50-75 rounds at most.  maybe i'll take the 22 pistol too that way I can make it rain lead down range

I went to the range today. I brought my Glock 17 with the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit. I fired 240 rounds today. All rapid fire. I am getting better at this. Practicing with my Glock 17 actually helps when I fire 9mm in rapid fire. It also helps since I have put better sights on it. I’m still not as fast as I would like but I think I am as accurate as I should be. So now it is just more practice and time to better my times.

Bottom line is I made it rain lead today!
