Does anyone know if I can just go to one of the small fedex stores to ship them or do I need to go to the main warehouse on lagoon drive? and since it's pretty much just buttstocks, barrels and upper receivers being sent; will I need to declare that at fedex?

You can send through the store locations, just don't say the words 'firearm' or 'gun'. Tell them 'machined parts' or something like that.

*update* I bought a small pelican case and stripped my guns down. Only the parts that have the serial number on them go in the pelican to be checked in for the plane ride, the rest will be sent to myself via fedex.

They are no longer a gun and can be declared as machine parts.
Most of the employees as well as management do not have a clue as to legality of shipping firearms.
When I had my FFl I ran into rampant stupidity with the shipping companies as well as the PO.
Since you have the parts defined as a firearm travelling with you, the rest are only considered parts.
ALL GUN parts are MACHINE parts, but, ALL MACHINE parts are not GUN parts.
The less you tell the shipping clerks the better.
