Thanks Inspector, powdermonkey, GZ and Justin for your input and info.  The 300AAC BLK FAQ  is very informative.  That seems like the go to forum on 300.
Plan to wait for the November sales for a good barrel, flash hider and gas parts unless I see a deal on a complete upper that can't refuse.   Meanwhile get some cases at the show and order some dies and look for powder.

For the light bullets, you can't beat Hogdon 110 or Winchester 296 (they are the same powder)

Want to get the carbine gas length barrel for the lighter bullets.  Your 2nd link lists Midwest Gun Works which sells a AAC 16" barrel (BAR09105C) for a good price but sold out right now.  As soon as it's in stock I'll jump on that.

Hope I can find these powders.  Normally I check JHara, WGS, YG or SEC since they sell Hodgdon and WIN powders.

1680 is a good powder as well. I like 4227 in my loads. It a do it all powder for 300blk.  Not the fastest or lowest charge type of powder but it meter well and runs cool.

I have tried most of the available powders in my 300 BLK (Except Lil Gun) for supersonic loads and my results are all pretty close. However, I found with my rifle and loads the H110/W296 works the best. Plus since this is magnum pistol powder I use it in .357 Magnum and 45 Colt/454 Casull loads.

H110 / W 296 for top velocity for super with 110 to 125 gr (prefer to use for super)
A1680, W 680 and H/IMR 4227 both for super and subs
H/IMR 4198, W 680, H/IMR 4227, A 1680 for subs 190 to 240gr (prefer to use for sub)

I'm going to try WIN 296 since it's also used for .357 mag loads.
Just ordered Redding FL die set for 300 BLK.  On my way to spending more kala again.

Just a suggestion for bullet selection. I had my best results with Sierra 125gr and 135gr Matchkings. Also I had excellent results with Sierra 125gr SPT and Speer 130gr HP and 130gr FP. Not saying other bullets won't do just as good or better. Just saying these are what worked best for me. Currently experimenting with a 135gr Lead Spire Point as a cheap plinking alternative.

Thanks for the info on bullets.  Probably start with Sierra 125 gr HP matchking.  Sierra site has good info on load data that can crosscheck with Hodgdon data.

For guys that load with H110/296 and 125 gr. bullets, what kind of primer do you use?   Hodgdon/WIN load data says to use SR magnum primer.   On some forums others use SR or CCI #41 primers.
This is for 16" barrel with carbine length gas system.   Also anybody try 110 gr. bullets (like A-Max) with H110/296 from a 16" barrel?

I use Federal 205's and CCI 400 and 41's. I use mostly the Federals since those are the oldest and what I have most of. I have not had any ignition issues with any of these primers.

I like CCI #41 and will probably use this.
Thanks.

cci work well. if your using h110 and 125gr bullets then you will most likely find a good accurate load with 17.3 to 17.7gn of powder but as always work your way up.

Being at work and not being able to look at my load data. I believe my most accurate load is at 17.5gr.
