Looks like the All Guard team.
I got burned by brass from someone else, bubbled and turned into a scab. I accept it as part of the sport like getting bit by mosquitoes while camping. On the other hand, there are complete arses out there. I shoot on the prone side often and there was a casual shooter who dumped a full 30 round mag on me until the RO told him he only could load 5 at a time. No apologies and he did know he was dumping his brass on me.
...
Yeah it was a nat. Guard pic off the web.
The worst brass burn I had was a piece that fell inside my glasses so it kept pressing against my face.
Hurt like a sob! Had a burn mark for a long time but no scar.

That fact that you say privilege to shoot just drives me up the wall.

Its a damn shame that in the state of Hawaii it is a fucking PRIVILEGE to shoot.

And what's with the whole only 5 rounds at a time and no human silhouettes rule? What did someone get scared about that?

Is this state so back asswards that it forbades its own people from training to defend themselves?!

When the state forbades the people from being able to adequately arm and train themselves there is a MAJOR problem. They give you just enough so the NRA doesn't get involved and whoop their asses, but they take just enough to the point where we are all under armed and trained.

Its fucking bullshit.

End rant
...
Great rant but you preaching to the choir

I bring a pistol brass catcher to collect my brass.  Sometimes, the brass catcher misses the brass, oh well.

I don't mind the flying brass at all. It's part of my enjoyment of being in the range.   Brings a smile to my face every time.   Loud gunfire, flying hot brass, the satisfying dinging of metal targets, they all remind me of the little freedom we enjoy here on our commie run island.

i hear you, and the sweet smell of gunsmoke, it's all part of the enjoymentr       :shaka:

however, i'm open to brass catcher ideas, is there a brass catcher design topic?  could someone post a link to it?

sorry, I deleted that pic from flickr.
but its pretty much just a jack stand for a car, with a fishing net shoved in the top.  LOL.
$5 for the net, and I already had the jack stand.

I use a nice net screen my friend made out of a laundry bag, ping pong net table clamps and aluminum tent poles.  Sometime when we have tables side by side and no brass catcher we put the semi-autos on the left table and bolts on the right.  That way we are generally only raining down hot brass from hell on each other!

Maybe I'll take my left ejecting Tavor and a right ejecting AK so I can be an equal opportunity "make it rain" shooter.

I understand from a courtesy aspect but isn't this thread making a mountain out of a molehill?

Just take up knitting or play cards for crying out loud.

I've been hit by brass and steel cased ammo, and I do use a catcher for the record.

Seems like both sides of the coin making trouble.

If it's that big of a deal for an individual, said individual should take off one of his screen windows from his home and clamp it to his bench but on his left side...This way stray brass will bounce off the screen and not hit him.......

If you really want to be a nice guy, bring an extra brass catcher and if needed lend it to the bench where the brass is coming from.

I've always wondered about that but never seen it.

If you are worried about being hit by brass, bring a brass deflector of some sort and set it up on the left side.

Smart.

My SCAR 17 drops brass over my right shoulder about 1 foot away. Perfect gun.

My VEPR shoots brass forward at about a 45 degree angle.

Both perfect Kokohead guns.
