Two 110 story buildings built to withstand just about anything perfectly imploding is the strongest one.

Code and design is drastically different now than when the towers were built.   Back when the towers were first designed you were talking ASD.  Even when I was going to school there was a transition away from ASD to LRFD design.

Also you don't design to avoid "implosions" and what happened to the towers were not implosions they were failures of key structural elements due to overheating which led to a cascade effect and failure of other key members.  Once that 15% or 20% or whatever safety factor is failed in one member the loads shift to other members and overwhelm them.

The second time around the terrorists understood what it took to put the buildings into serious trouble unlike the bombing of the tower foundations in the 90's.
