Where in the term "radical Islamic extremist" is the word Muslim used?

They're not Muslims.

That's the point.

Muslims call them Daesh.

A muslim is a follower of Islam is it not? So extremists muslim or radical islam seem like rather the same thing to me. Perhaps I am missing some nuance?

I understand how some muslims would say the extremists are not true muslims, but wouldn't members of ISIS consider themselves muslim? Not trying to debate who has authority over the word muslim.

The whole thread is about what words should used by the President.

So extremists muslim or radical islam seem like rather the same thing to me.

Yeah, your definitely missing the nuance.

The radical Islamic extremists needs to be addressed.

Again, I fully agree with you there.

The question for me is, how do you address the bad ones while minimizing the risk of offending the good ones.

Did I not adress it in my previous posts.

You separate them from Muslims with the words you choose to address them.
They're not Muslims at all. They're radical Islamists.

But it does need to be addressed.

The only way to know why Obummer refrains from calling it for what it is, is to ask him.

He thinks calling a pile of dung a rose will make people believe it's a rose.

That is why people's bullshit meters are beeping off the hook and distrust politicians in general.

Trump is popular because he calls it what it is.

What the libtards fail to realize is you can't solve the problem if you can't pinpoint what it is.

I still don't see how you are qualifying them as not muslim. Trump certainly does not seem to delineate when he suggests banning Muslim immigration.

Or are you suggesting that as a strategy Obama paint the terrorists and ISIS as not true muslims?

He's already splitting those hairs.  Nobody cares if the terrorists killing their family and friends are calling themselves Islamic or Muslims, or whether Obama, a proven liar, considers them Islamic.

Took a while but By George, I think he's got it.

Main point is Obama needs to acknowledge 2 Radical Islamic terrorist attacks on USA soil in the last 7 months. period.
There is no argument to that.

If he wants to be politically correct, then the above verbiage can be applied.

A friend either said this or posted something like this the other day.  This discussion of radial/extremist Islam, Muslims, whatever is the distraction.  What people need to consider is whether or not the President is doing a good job of protecting the American people.  The public may never have the information on all the threats this country faces each day, but I would think that the general public feels less safe today than they did 7 months ago.

Liberal/Children = Emotional Thinking

Guns bad. Get rid of guns. Loud and scary.

Then terrorists will use knives and baseball bats (in their minds).

Oh, Paris? London? Well, at least not as many shootings as in USA.

Also, Europe generally is more romantic and cultured than USA.

They have good coffee and wine.

You can keep your liberty. I just want my wines.

Subtlety can be lost on internet forums. I thought you were suggesting based on some tenant in Islam that the terrorists were't real muslims.

But as a strategy if dividing and conquering I would agree. When we are talking about home grown terrorists we really have to beat them intellectually, hearts and minds and stuff.

But as edster points out the line between moderate and extremist is arguably blurry.
