Former Chief of Police Kealoha AND his wife were arrested this morning and should appear in court for arraignment this afternoon.

This was speculated to be a possibility over the next few days because the grand jury investigating the Kealoha's was dismissed yesterday.

If he's convicted, I believe he forfeits the lump sum severance he was given by the city/tax payers to prevent a lawsuit.

Read the Indictment Gang.
It's a good read.

Kealoha's are Shysters.

"The 20-count indictment describes a complex web of fraud, deception and obstruction by a husband and wife team so desperate to fund their lifestyle and maintain their self-professed status as Honolulu's power couple that they swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars from banks, credit unions and some of the most vulnerable members of the community, including a disabled uncle, a 98-year-old grandmother and two minor children who were under Katherine Kealoha's guardianship," said acting U.S. attorney Alana Robinson, at the news conference.

Based on the Indictment, looks like they're BUSTED!

If convicted the Feds are going after their cash, their house and a Rolex watch.

If all the stuff in the Indictment is true, a lot of crims will be appealing their convictions by the CID. Altering evidence, lying, conspiracy etc. CORRUPT.

UPDATE: Louis and Katherine Kealoha, the center of a years-long investigation by the U.S. Justice Department,
pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of abuse of power and public corruption.

Quote
One day after a federal grand jury completed a two-year investigation into public corruption and abuse of power
in Hawaii law enforcement, former Honolulu Police Chief Louis Kealoha and his wife, Katherine, who is a high-ranking
city prosecutor, were arrested by the FBI.

The Kealohas, who were arrested Friday morning, have been at the center of the U.S. Justice Department’s criminal
probe, which so far has led to the arrest of five other Honolulu police officers.

The Kealohas pleaded not guilty, as did another co-defendant, Daniel Sellers, who was also arrested and charged
Friday. All three suspects were released on bond. The U.S. Attorneys Office tried to keep Katherine Kealoha in custody,
saying she has a history of falsifying reports, obstructing justice and intimidating witnesses.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Richard Puglisi denied the request. The Kealohas exited the federal courthouse Friday holding
hands and smiling. The were also wearing lei and were hugged by some bystanders on the courthouse steps.

Louis Kealoha told Civil Beat, “We appreciate the continued community support and we look forward to our day in court.”

Katherine Kealoha was placed on leave without pay Friday by the Honolulu prosecutor’s office, according to Chuck Parker,
a spokesman for Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney Keith Kaneshiro.

Myles Breiner, who also represents the Kealohas, said the Kealohas surrendered at their home about 6 a.m. Friday.

Why doesn't any of this surprise me. My prediction is this case will be appealed up to sky high heaven, millions of  tax payer dollars spent defending these two scumbags while we have homeless children who could use the money to help them survive and these shihteads will get a slap on the hand, do a minimum amount of time, get released back into their comfy lifestyle and play the poor poor pitiful me tune and there will be idiots who will agree with them and pander to them. Yessir our famed and illustrious justice and legal system will be worked over like a blind boxer. What's really funny I'd that after all this blows over, both of these wastes of sperm due to a busted rubber will run for political office, get elected, play the race and sovereignty card and live happily ever after in the cesspool that used to be paradise. If I had my way they'd be hung at sunrise. Fuck them...

Kealoha will get a top shelf job with Whatever-the-Name is security that handles the airport like the rest of the disgraced HPD officers.

I hope Mrs. Kealoha at least gets disbarred.

If the charges are true...what a shame all this started with Mrs. Kealoha trying to screw over her own family...so shame.

I'm interested to see what Keith Kaneshiro has to say about all of this now.  He was defending them and said that the Federal case was a sham.  Going to be interesting in his explanation of why he couldn't come up with the case and evidence that the feds got.

I read that long indictment, what a bunch of crooks.  If half of that is true, they deserve 20 years minimum in Federal prison.

Did hpd confiscate any of their guns? if so, does Louie and Cat need to pay for rap back to get their guns back if found not guilty?

this is just a tiny peek at the corruption in hawaii law enforcement and politicians.  this is the kind of coverup and oldboy network bullshit and strong arm tactics they were using over a mailbox and minor domestic squabble, just imagine what they're doing on a regular basis for much bigger things.

Was hoping "Big Dog" would get caught up in this.

The hour is still early, but given the FBI's pro-authoritarian stance they are probably weighing carefully just how much of the lawn needs mowing. So far is just the personal junk they dug up, but it stands to reason that people who have no problem stealing Grandma's house would certainly carry their ethical bankruptcy over to the work environment and enlist others to help them. How many dirty cops should have been given prison time vs getting shuffled over to Securitas or DLNR because they knew stuff that could bring down the whole department? The ones we hear about are screwed up so bad that nobody could help them stay out of the can, but it's possible that some of them had their silence bought by promising to take care of their families while they are away. That's a lot of conjecture, but it's the way institutionalized corruption usually works.

The problem is modern policing isn't about public safety or crime prevention, but social control. When wages are pushed down, taxes go up, and the basics expenses like rent and food are no longer affordable you need a Police State to keep a lid on the building rage so that the wealthy elite can continue their plundering a little while longer. Gradually the police come to see the people as the enemy, and training/tactics/weapons/clothing become more militarized as they prepare for the inevitable food riots, martial law, and possibly even an insurgency. That disconnect from the population and lack of accountability allows parasites like the Kealohas to rise to the top, and it's also one of the many reasons societies who go down this path inevitably collapse. Plenty mosquitoes, not enough blood.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

Have been super busy lately and haven't kept up with this story, but I recall once the "fish" involved started getting bigger, knew something was up.  Started low.  Then seems like the news slowed/stopped.  Then two more higher level arrests and then bam the Kealoha's are arrested.  I just wonder how far the whole case will reach.

One of my best friend's is a former prosecutor.  We were talking about where Kaneshiro stands in all of this, particularly as pertains to Mrs. Kealoha.  Will see true colors, or truer colors as people have to choose going down with the ship, or bail.  Probably too late for many to bail, at least without getting bitten in the ass.
