Maybe the "Hawaii Gun Laws" book addresses this subject. Seems like a pretty good resource...  :crazy:

Living in your car in HI is illegal.

Place to keep Unloaded......If a boat is considered a possessor's place of business, residence, or sojourn;  thus legal as per HRS 134 24/25.

a loaded firearm is a different story and is alot more complicated legal wise.

Minor point: The act of living in your car is not illegal, per se. But, even if you do live in a car the courts have said that the car does not meet the criteria of a "home" or "place of sojourn" for the purposes of keeping a firearm.

Unless you are parked at the range, a gun shop, gunsmith, your place of business, HPD ....  falls under transport versus home
