I read their whole website a week or so ago. Straight out of the Soviet era shameless propaganda machine where facts and truth only appear either incidentally or accidentally.  SMH.

I just got an email response from superintendent Art Souza, after emailing him three times in the past 10 days asking him for his official statement re "no political statements" at the "walkouts", which directly contradicted the political statement about "gunh controL' by the leader of one of the high school walkouts as reported in the Hilo Tribune-Herald. My second and third emails asked him why he hadn't responded and what his official "rule" was for the "walkout" scheduled for April 20.

"The DOE position on the past weeks walkout was public record.  If asked by the press for a statement I am in a position to offer one.

I have no need to engage with you in any continuing conversation."

How hard would it for him to have simply sent me a copy of his official policy announcement? He won't answer a mere citizen taxpayer who pays his salary, but will only respond to "the press"? Is that his official policy on all school policy matters? Oh, I see, he has "no need to engage in any continuing conversation". I wonder why? Plus, I think the word "continuing" is misused.

I wrote both the DOE asking for an explanation of his non-explanation, and asked the reporter ("the press") of the original story to ask him for the original official policy statement and for the upcoming "walkout" as well.

I have no idea and have seen no reporting on what actually happened at the "walkouts" at the schools under his purview, so don't know if his stated policy was really even announced much less implemented and if so what happened to any students who actually followed the directives of the "walkout" organization and advocated for "gun control".

I suppose we are going to be seeing these, uh, "people" exercising their "influence" forever... makes me sick.

And I notice in their "Mission Statement" that they use the term "assault rifle", which all the civilian disarmament groups carefully do NOT use, as they now know that there actually is such a thing as an "assault rifle" which is defined as having full auto or 3-round burst capability, and thus they use the meaningless propaganda term "assault weapon" to refer to semi-automatic weapons. I guess the "kids" (haha... funded by Bloomberg et al.) haven't gotten the lies straight yet.

Wonder what would happen if  "some group" put up a "Truth about Guns" or "Pro Common Sense Gun Laws" educational tent. 
Do like that guy who does sit down interviews in public and pretty much shows people how little they know about a subject.

The "marchers" (even though their march permit was denied, and now it's called a "rally", some organizers have suggested they might march from the rally to the White House anyway...) are scheduled to end up having hot chocolate served to them at the humongous National Educational Association teachers union ("the largest professional interest group in the United States") lobby building. Given that Kishimoto et al. in the command structure of HIDOE are all members of NEA, and that NEA is outspoken in supporting the student attempts to impose "gun control", I suspect she'll follow the party line.
