You need to buy more handguns man, this is a top 5 list.  :)

1911.........Dan Wesson is nice as are Springfields in the sub $2,000 range.  I am a Sig guy, but I have difficulty suggesting one buys anything Sig unless they've had years in the market with that particular model to hash out issues.  Over $2,000 I'd say Ed Brown, Les Baer, Wilson Combat.

I only have 4 pistols, so for me they top 4 would be:

1) Glock 17
2) Glock 17 FDE
3) Glock 34
4) HK USP 40c

Yeah, I have two of the same gun. Well, three since a 34 is pretty close to a 17. I was seriously looking at a Springfield TRP about a month ago, but that's gonna have to wait for a while.

I'd like to eventually get a 45, but the ammo is so expensive compared to 9mm.

I'm just looking forward to the day when I have enough handguns to pick a top five!

So what are your thoughts on a Sig P226 Scorpion( not the 1911)?

I have a need for another 9mm, on a FDE kick and the Scopion is on my short list.

Dont want to side track the original post, so an IM is good if you could.

I just got it about a month ago.  Only about 50 rounds through it, but I'm really liking it so far.

You should get one!

Sorry, but I don't know anything about the 226 Scorpion.  It's my opinion that if it's just a cosmetic deal, then fine as the 226 platform has been around for a while, but if they've screwed with the action and it hasn't been out for a couple of years, I'd pass.

I'm going to have one made with custom engraving and a personalized serial number.

Which one you got?

How do you like it?

I have a Molon Labe........which is basically just an Executive.  Got it used, but it had some features that I wanted on it............25 lpi checkering front and back strap and rail in front.  Ended up changing the rear sight to a 10-8.

The gun is finicky man.  I had intended to go from my P220 Elite as my primary to the Ed Brown.  I think with the stuff that's come out for the M&P recently, I'm going to go with the M&P in 9 or 40 as my primary instead.

Damn, that's not what I wanted to hear.

When you spend that kind of money, you expect the utmost reliability.

The tighter you make things, the more stuff can go wrong.  Same thing goes for AK's.........loose gun makes a lot of issues go away.

Anyhow, you have to figure the 1911 was designed to shoot a certain cartridge.  When people start trying to run a bunch of different stuff through it, you are going to have issues.  You'll just need to figure out what's going to work for you.

...........we can set up a time (not this weekend) when you can shoot my 1911.  It'll give you an idea of what the gun is like.
