Being a Kalihi boy.

I have numerous memories of Kamehameha shopping.

1  watching filipino movies at the theatre not too many people remember it
2  sunday breakfast at jesse's bakery and fresh pandesal
3  parties and playing the star wars video game at the pizza place
4  kenny's deli for field trips
5  ms pacman and slush float at kenny's
6  watching people play dragon's lair in fun factory
7  playing games for free in fun factory after hours when friends worked there
My grandma's house near Ritchie's on N. King St.  We were there very often growing up.  The old Helena's, where Honolulu Ford is now.  We didn't roam the area that much when we were younger, but got to know the area pretty well as we got older.  We used to get chinese food from Au's Garden pretty often.  Jesse's Bakery was one place we went of often.  Used to get that roll thing.

I remember that small theatre by Longs - I saw Beat Street there.
If I remember Dragon's Lair was a $1 or $5 to play a game? Fun Factory is still there.
Kenny's Burgerhouse where McDs is and the 50 cent teri burgers.
Which Longs?  I vaguely recall a movie theater.  I recall seeing a movie in the round theater on University St.  I think it was an old school kung fu movie.

Wrasslin!

I still remember I had the Slurpee cups for Wrestle Mania I-III, with the characters on them.  Ricky the Dragon Steamboat!  I don't watch that stuff now, but I catch it from time to time when I was watching something before it.  Some HS classmates still watch that stuff religiously and even go to events.   :o

Not a gun smith so there's plenty of people who know more than me.  Can't fix cars either.  But I can shoot guns and drive a car so I'm happy.

Lead balances PH? We should open a business together selling lead soaked water to hipsters.  I got plenty extra fishing lead.  I hear PH balanced water is all the craze.

Remember local wrestling circuit.

There was a Samoan tag team.  My friend's dad is Leroy Brown.  He became campus security @ Farrington.

Somebody false cracked my friend once.  His dad let them fight or made like he was letting them fight.  He whacked his son with a PVC pipe he was holding.

Eh. Forgot the newspaper insulation inside the tinfoil.

Dang, sometimes the juice would still have the icee layer on top come lunch time.

Good one.  :shaka:

The "best" one was paper towel for the insulation layer.  But if you didn't time it right and lunch was early, sometimes had to unwrap and leave it out in the sun.

Now, can't even share snacks from home lunch.  That was some of the best times.
