One of my oldest and dearest friend’s wife was just informed her brother is in a coma on a ventilator and not expected to make it to the end of the week. His wife got COVID and gave it to him but he refused to get help. They found him passed out barely breathing on Sunday. She lives in CA and her brother is in ID. She can’t go see him before he passes. And they can’t hold a service due to restrictions. So she can’t go at all. She is so sad and mad at the same time.
As it turns out her brother pulled out and is now off the ventilator. Of course we don’t know what damage if any he is going to have to live with. He is still in the hospital but is out of ICU. His wife is still sick and so is their daughter. The daughter waited to get help and spent some time in the hospital like her father. So for this one family, bad things but it looks like everyone will get over it.

You want to lock people up and tell them they have to stay home and not see family at the holidays, not allow them to work, what do you expect is going to happen?

The Safety Cult is about to move into agitprop mode... 13 minute propaganda video at the site...

Nearly 4 in 10 Americans do not want to take the Covid vaccine. HHS is planning to spend $250 million to convince the U.S. it is safe

How the coronavirus vaccine works and why Americans should trust it [Video title]

Nearly 4 in 10 Americans say they would “definitely” or “probably” not get a vaccine, according to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center.
The Department of Health and Human Services plans to spend $250 million on a national education campaign to build public trust in the vaccine.
The U.S. began vaccinating the population against the coronavirus last week, but mass adoption is not a guarantee.

Nearly 4 in 10 Americans say they would “definitely” or “probably” not get a vaccine, according to a Pew Research Center survey of 12,648 U.S. adults from Nov. 18 to 29.

While this is better than Pew results from September, which showed that nearly 50% of respondents were leaning toward not getting the vaccine, it still falls short of what is needed to adequately protect the country. To achieve herd immunity, about 70% of the population needs to be vaccinated or have natural antibodies, experts say.

Widespread mistrust could be a product of the fact that the Covid vaccine was researched and developed in just eight months, breaking the speed record of four years.

Or it might have something to do with the fact that if anything goes wrong with the vaccine, the drugmakers that produced them — Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna — have total immunity against lawsuits related to injuries resulting from the vaccine until 2024.

Central to closing this trust gap is a robust and reliable national education campaign. The Department of Health and Human Services will spend $250 million on this effort.

But the push by the federal government to educate the public has been plagued by controversy, including suspicions about politicizing the message and concern over the lengthy delay in rolling out the targeted messaging that was promised.

At least 15 states told NBC News in early December they weren’t waiting for the HHS campaign. Instead, they launched their own communication campaigns to expedite the message.

Ultimately, if there is any chance of returning to life as normal, mass vaccination is going to be critical. [they love making shit up!]

Watch this video to find out how major stakeholders plan to persuade the entire country to trust a vaccine made in record time, using technology that had never before been licensed.

Are the courts still not dealing with nonviolent arrests?  If so, why would anyone who thinks it's okay to rob anyone else NOT do it every chance they get?

Let's see, at this rate... it'll be sometime mid 2022 before enough people get vaccinated to achieve "herd immunity"... and likely not even then since 40% of people say no... I guess that leaves the Safety Cultists with the "mandatory vaccination" option... this is gonna be fun! Especially if immunity only lasts 6-12 months and then requires and set of two shots annually. Talk about big bucks!

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/millions-u-vaccine-doses-sit-202751315.html

Millions of U.S. vaccine doses sit on ice, putting 2020 goal in doubt

Dec 23 (Reuters) - Millions of COVID-19 vaccines are sitting unused in U.S. hospitals and elsewhere a week into the massive inoculation campaign, putting the government's target for 20 million vaccinations this month in doubt.

As of Wednesday morning, only 1 million shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine had been given, about one-third of the first shipment sent last week. Over 9.5 million doses of vaccines, including Moderna's, have now been sent to states, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While hospitals have started giving out Moderna's vaccine, the CDC has not yet reported that data and there may be a lag in reporting shots given of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

The slow pace has barely picked up from the first week when 614,000 shots were given although nearly 2.9 million were shipped.

Hospitals said the first COVID-19 vaccinations started slowly last Monday as they navigated preparing the previously frozen shots for use, finding employees to run the vaccination clinics, and ensuring proper social distancing both before and after vaccination. Some said they did only about 100 shots the first day.
...

Jason Schwartz, assistant professor of health policy at Yale School of Public Health, described the initial tally as "discouraging" and said “the challenges of getting vaccines out as quickly as we're able to manufacture them will only grow."

Johnson & Johnson's one-shot vaccine could speed deployment because it requires a conventional refrigerator and has no specialized procedures to thaw out and administer, said Claire Hannan, executive director of the Association for Immunization Managers trade group. AstraZeneca's two dose vaccine also can be stored in a refrigerator.

"When it's refrigerator-stable and a one-dose regimen, it can't get any easier than that," Hannan said.

Researchers found that people with antibodies from natural infections were “at much lower risk ... on the order of the same kind of protection you’d get from an effective vaccine,” of getting the virus again, said Dr. Ned Sharpless, director of the U.S. National Cancer Institute.

“It’s very, very rare” to get reinfected, he said.

The Safety Cultists once again violate their mantra to "follow the science"! What else is new?

My physician, who is a total Safety Cult advocate, wouldn't give me a prescription for hydroxy and azithro, so I had to wait for my Indian pharmacy to get them back in stock and then wait three weeks. I haven't needed it but 1. better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, and 2. why the fuck won't a doctor give you a prescription for a nearly zero-side-effect drug when there are dozens of peer-reviewed studies (yes, I printed them out and gave them to her... crickets) showing it/they are efficacious if used within the first several days of infection (and even lower the death rate by 50% if given after that time)?

I hear it's all the McCain morons that have created the corrupt RINO/Democrat machine in Arizona.

I wish you'd go down to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors four RINOs and tell them to honor the subpoena and turn over the Dominion machines for forensic analysis like they had agreed to. If it's all good, like they claim, what's the problem with someone verifying how accurate they were?

I heard the legislature went to court to have the subpoena enforced. I don’t don’t know what the outcome of that is yet.

I see how things work here. The true democrats run as Republicans and then hang on to their jobs by voting Republican for 3 months before the election and vote with the democrats the rest of the year. They tout their conservative record for the last few months when they are up for reelection. And the Democrats put up milk toast candidates against them. The naive think they are real conservatives but they are not.

The NV governor also did the same. He only allowed it to be used at a hospital.  So a sick person has to either drive, get a ride (friend or uber), or catch the bus to the hospital to get each dose.  If it's needed to be taken twice a day, then that's 2 trips a day while infectious.

He did recinde the order, but his TDS showed and it shows what people do to undermine Trump. People need to wake up and see it's not about a virus, it's political.

Canaries in the Mine: Seasonal Peaks

Today, we’re publishing the latest instalment in the ongoing series by Dr Rudolph Kalveks, who has a PhD in theoretical physics, in which he uses a simple epidemiological model (an SIR model) to look at Covid mortality across the globe in an attempt to isolate the factors causing deaths to rise and fall. His conclusion is that lockdowns don’t have a big impact. Here’s an extract:

It is notable that Sweden, which introduced few lockdown restrictions, enjoyed a summer lull followed by a small autumn peak, while other European countries, which implemented many and varying lockdown restrictions during the year, have found themselves faced by larger autumn peaks. The models indicate that the overall susceptibility in Sweden, taking spring and autumn together, may end up relatively low within Europe.

The key question is what has driven the summer lull followed by the autumn peaks in Europe. It is implausible that lockdowns were responsible for the summer lull, since the subsequent tightening of lockdown policies has not prevented the autumn peaks. Is there any plausible mechanism other than the commonplace observation that there is a high level of natural seasonal variation in (the susceptibility to and transmission of) respiratory infections? As Prof. Ioannidis notes, “Seasonality may also play a role in the dissipation of the epidemic wave.”

We should recall the findings in the Lancet,1 that even the most draconian (and impractical) combinations of lockdown policies only reduce R to around 65% of its initial R0 value after seven days, and to around 48% if continued for a month. Once lockdown restrictions are limited, the R values revert.

Coronaviruses can start with an R0 in the range of five to ten times, so that a much greater reduction of 80% – 90% would be necessary to reduce R to below one. Simple arithmetic shows that for readily transmissible viruses, lockdown restrictions are insufficient, and that the spread of infections can only be halted by some combination of herd immunity (whether by vaccination or by recovery following infection) and seasonality.

yup
i know you have been posting about this for a long time too
the in the know websites and youtube/twitter channels have been talking about the gompertz curve and seasonal burnout since early summer

but we must listen to THE SCIENCE and ignore ivermectin (now shown to be 100% sure that it greatly reduces symptoms and deaths in RCT), and HCQ (orange man bad!) for hugely expensive treatments...

Hmm. I have to wonder what is the motive and goal of this changing definition? All the existing science shows that once people have recovered from the infection it is "very, very rare" that they are susceptible to becoming infected again (aka they have immunity to reinfection, just as they supposedly will from the vaccination schedule). Why delete that information?

Yeah, the Safety Cultists label Kennedy a right-wing nut-job conspiracy theorist anti-vaxxer. Note the Cultists are wrong about everything else too. And liars. So... this is from last August, but I don't think I posted it previously... and only all the more true with what we've seen since then...

Robert Kennedy Jr. Again Warns of the Authoritarian Surveillance State and Coup to Overcome World Democracies

Robert Kennedy, Jr. sees what many of Americans see.  The Big Corporations and Elites want to take over the world and our individual freedoms.

Robert Kennedy, Jr., son of the former Attorney General for his brother John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy Sr, has warned about Big Pharma and Big Tech joining forces before.  He’s warned about Bill Gates’ bio security agenda, the rise of the authoritarian surveillance state and the Big Pharma sponsored coup d’etat against liberal democracy in a protest in Germany this past August.

Fauci again caught in lies, misinformation, ignorance, whatever. And today is St. Fauci Day in Washington D.C. That's how fucked up shit is there. https://notthebee.com/article/so-fauci-just-admitted-that-hes-been-lying-to-americans-about-herd-immunity

Here's the whole article:

So Fauci just admitted that he's been lying to Americans about herd immunity

Fauci told the New York Times today that he's been lying about how many people would need to be vaccinated in order for herd immunity take hold in America.

Or, as NYT puts it, he's been "quietly shifting that number" and "deliberately moving the goal posts."

BEHOLD:

How Much Herd Immunity Is Enough?

Scientists initially estimated that 60 to 70 percent of the population needed to acquire resistance to the coronavirus to banish it. Now Dr. Anthony Fauci and others are quietly shifting that number upward.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/24/health/herd-immunity-covid-coronavirus.html#click=https://t.co/j18nUYZ3cV

Recently, a figure to whom millions of Americans look for guidance — Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, an adviser to both the Trump administration and the incoming Biden administration — has begun incrementally raising his herd-immunity estimate.

In the pandemic's early days, Dr. Fauci tended to cite the same 60 to 70 percent estimate that most experts did. About a month ago, he began saying "70, 75 percent" in television interviews. And last week, in an interview with CNBC News, he said "75, 80, 85 percent" and "75 to 80-plus percent."

In a telephone interview the next day, Dr. Fauci acknowledged that he had slowly but deliberately been moving the goal posts. He is doing so, he said, partly based on new science, and partly on his gut feeling that the country is finally ready to hear what he really thinks.

Hard as it may be to hear, he said, he believes that it may take close to 90 percent immunity to bring the virus to a halt — almost as much as is needed to stop a measles outbreak.
...
"When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent," Dr. Fauci said. "Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,' so I went to 80, 85."

I hope I do not need to explain how big of a deal it is that during a pandemic, the nation's top infectious disease expert has been deliberately misleading (read: LYING TO) the public because he thought they might not be ready to hear the truth.

Waiting until polls show certain numbers before telling Americans what he believes is true? The heck is that?

NYT couldn't even spin it to make him sound good.

Of ALL people involved with this trainwreck called Corona, HE is supposed to be the one operating solely on statistics and facts, and not "gut feelings." It's why we're supposed to trust everything he says, remember!

Why is this such a big deal?  Maybe because:  if he lied about this, WHAT ELSE has he been lying about?  His integrity (which started dropping months ago) is now in question.  If you can't trust doctors to be honest about the science, who can you trust?  The media?  Some anonymous forum member who posts links he/she/it Googled as if that's the Gospel?

Science?  LOL!!  These are the same scientists who predicted 2M+ deaths in 3 months when the pandemic reached the US.  Wrong by a factor of 10.

I'd love to know what kinds of grades these quacks got in school.  They seem to have a lack of understanding of how things work in medicine, or they are lying to make the country too afraid to NOT heed their counsel.  Regardless, their performance has been marginal, and Trump gets blamed for it while the Left calls for MORE quackery.
