Science usually follows this route.  They come up with something new,  they test, they give results...fauci isn't some all knowing god...

LOL!  You think they might be smart enough to do the testing BEFORE publicizing that people should start doing it, huh?

BTW, if you decrease the amount of air that can flow through a mask or masks, people will be unable to breathe as easily -- inhale AND exhale.  So, they'll be increasing their rate of breathing as well as the force with which they have to breathe.  Inhaling will be difficult, and to clear the CO2 from the mask against their face, they have to exhale harder.

You think all the heavy breathing might be worse for ones health AND for controlling the virus?

The flu magically disappears in Hawaii. Its a miracle!

https://www.kitv.com/story/43297563/hawaii-has-avoided-twindemic-with-regular-flu-cases-almost-nonexistent-in-the-state

That's what happens when travel is drastically reduced between Hawaii and the world.  Fewer people spreading germs internationally and interstate.

I don't know how many times I've seen someone go on vacation or a business trip only to come back sick and infect their friends, family and coworkers.

Of coarse, drastically reducing workplace spreading of germs helps (lockdowns).  Some people never got the lecture on staying home when you're sick rather than "powering through it."

Schools are germ incubators, too.  No in-person schools, no person-to-person infections between students.

Or is proof that masks, social distancing and restrictions work for the most part.   And covid is highly contagious. Imagine what would happen if we did nothing.

If all that were true, wouldn't covid also "disappear" ?

This.

Used to dread having to travel for business.  Was the only time I ever would get sick.

Covid is likely more infectious so that's why it's spreading.  Our safety measures is why covid rates are far less than the mainland.  And flu rates near non existent.

Oh gosh Josh. Now he’s taking credit for “calling” when the Johnson&Johnson vaxx “might” get approved and “kick things into high gear” in a Hawai’i. Like he called it all along and had a hand in getting that done.  ::)

And if it doesn’t come through. Just like Lie Hagi.

How dare you tell me that breathing is more important than not inhaling a virus.

What's the point then?

My point was that Hawaii has the lowest rates in the nation with some of the strictest rules and high mask usage.   The point is Hawaii is doing it correct, and is effective, even at lowing flu rates.
