Absolutely agree, and it's actually something we both planned to do anyway after finding out about them. I had read that their Fun Shoots were for members only.
Plus there will always be new things to learn from different instructors, and it's great to be able to meet and make connections with more like-minded people.
My husband would probably love to participate in the practical matches.

yeah, but it's not that expensive to join hra (plus we encourage everyone to join anyways) and the shoots are free
you can sign up that day

srgc you can get membership automatically if you are .mil
membership meetings are the second wednesday of every month
(i believe there is no meeting in december)
i'll email you more info later

look up hawaii practical shooters on facebook
they have a 2-gun (rifle/pistol) match on dec 5 and a pistol only match dec 6
they prorate the annual membership and your first match is free
you do have to show up early to take a 101 class the first time

First handling of an actual firearm was just prior to that fun shoot at the indoor range off Ward. I've been to every fun shoot since (except October, had prior engagements). Although I've always been fascinated with documentaries and shows regarding gun culture and the history of firearms...The History Channel was a sort of teacher in that regard.
