Well seems like everyone appeared to deflect on your post and avoid the issue. I've read the indictment and he is done. His only hope....

A indictment isn't really a comprehensive look at the case. It lays out the charges and the evidence the prosecution has to support the charges. The indictment is not going to contain all the possible evidence and argument that the defense may bring to the table.

I am no legal expert but I can see a few different arguments that the defense could provide to cast enough doubt. If the prosecution is smart they will have foreseen most of these and prepared for them.

It is possible that Trump has exculpatory evidence of some type. I don't think the outlook is good on this case but I am not going to count any eggs before they hatch.

Are you kidding me? That would be the amazing if he wins from prison!

Some states don't allow convicted felons to vote so it would be a miracle if Trump could win despite not being on the ballot in a number of states.

And how does this relate to the indictment?
It's related to your acceptance of government corruption so long as it is done by the democrats.

I think the whole Stormy daniels payoff case technically had merit but was so obviously a political attack it should not have been pursued. This case actually appears to have merit though. Thanks to Russia hoax, too many people don't trust the FBI anymore. That combined with the almost religious following Trump has pretty much means there is going to be many who will believe a prosecution against Trump is a hoax no matter how much evidence there is.

To me the larger issue is not that Trump is being falsely accused, rather I think it is that Biden may be being protected. Selective prosecution is not healthy for the image of the justice system

The FBI trashed their integrity long before Trump did anything in politics.

Remember Benghazi, and how the FBI didn't even arrive on scene where a US ambassador and 3 other US citizens were murdered?  Remember how the "cause" of the attack was a lie (YT video)?  Remember how reporters were finding evidence on the site days after the attack, because the FBI never bothered to secure the scene?

Remember James Comey refusing to even recommend charges to the DOJ even though he had a mountain of evidence against Hillary for failing to turn over official records when she left her job as US Secretary of State?  How she stored national security secrets on an illegal email server?  How she conspired to delete backups while the files were under subpoena?  How she lied to Congress and the FBI?  How her husband, Slick Willy, met with the USAG days before the decision was to be made on charging her?  How the Clinton Campaign and DNC reported a Russian hacker broke into their servers, but then refused to give the FBI access to the servers to investigate?  How the entire Russia-Collusion hoax was predicated on opposition research paid for by the Clinton campaign?

Now you can toss the Hunter Biden Laptop cover-up onto the blazing fire of politics that is blazing at the FBI.  Their political bias was apparent long before Trump was named the nominee for the GOP and has been solidified with every Democrat scandal they've ignored or covered up since then.

I haven't and won't be looking into this like how I did Russia Hoax, Ukraine Hoax and all the other fake news charges as I don't have the time due to shit being another witch hunt. So I will chime in here from time to time to see counter arguments to information presented.

Logic does dictate why no other political figure is being sought after as much.  This is nothing more than the DOJ showing how weaponized they are.  China, Russia, and other like countries do the same to any political opponent who doesn't fall in line.  The fact that many cannot see this shows how their brainwashing has been successful over the decades.  I mean, it's not like those who believe this are being are have been shown other similar "slam dunk" convictions.  And those with TDS cannot see the bigger picture of what's going on.

If anyone wants an example of someone other than Trump, look at CRS Firearms (Matt Hoover).  He showed me why the DOJ has a 94% conviction rate.  Read the CRS thread if you want more details.

FBI is not mentioned in the Constitution.  It is a creation of Congress so they can obliterate
it at will and replace it with something else.
The FBI and ATF,  may perform some necessary functions in our complex modern threat filled world,
but as far as I'm concerned, they are merely the Democrat version of  NAZI brown shirts.
Something along the organisational lines of Interpol would be better.

I said he cannot be on the ballot, not that he cannot vote. Some states do not allow convicted felons to run for office in which case Trump's name would not be on the ballot in those states. No one in those states would be able to vote for Trump

I think there are some technical inaccuracies about your characterization of the above mentioned incidents but I don't want to get into those weeds here.

Indeed, the FBI has a long troubled history with playing politics and it has ruined their reputation. The only way to improve that reputation is to do good proper work going forward, and if that good proper work lead to the indictment of Trump then so be it, as long as it was good and proper. The way I look at it is that you have individual FBI agents and of course you will have a mix of good and bad. You had bad ones on the Russia hoax and you remove them and put someone else in. The new agent still wears the FBI letters on their back but they should be given a fair shake.

The Hunter laptop is a mixed bag. Hunter clearly did a lot wrong but photos of drugs, guns, and prostitutes are not enough by themselves to convict so I can see why that didn't result in anything. The investigation into the business aspects which appear to involve the president are very complicated and ongoing so I am not going to call foul on that one since we don't have any conclusion yet to evaluate.

Just having an honest and proper INVESTIGATION would be a start.  We never get past the cover-up, so how in the hell would we ever get a conviction?

Pay attention to what's happening with Biden's Ukraine scandal that got the prosecutor investigating his son's business associates fired.  He admitted it on video, but nobody in the DOJ was bothered by it.

And you being unwilling/unable to list the "technical inaccuracies" is a clever cop-out.  Make an accusation, then refuse to say why.

The FBI sat on the Hunter Laptop case for 6 months without a peep in order to protect his father's election.  it wasn't until the repair shop owner gave a copy of the data to Trump's camp that we even heard about it.  That's when the dems circled the wagons and claimed the laptop was Russian propaganda.

Please explain what about that is a "mixed bag."  I just don't get how someone as "objective" as you claim to be can still give any benefit of any doubt to the same people investigating themselves and never once being held accountable for their obvious crimes.

But, hey!  Trump needs to be impeached for mentioning Biden on a Ukraine phone call -- even before Biden officially announced he was running.

Spies who lie: 51 ‘intelligence’ experts refuse to
apologize for discrediting true Hunter Biden story

Quote
They are the supposed nonpartisan group of top spies looking out for the best interest
of the nation.

But the 51 former “intelligence” officials who cast doubt on The Post’s Hunter Biden
laptop stories in a public letter really were just desperate to get Joe Biden elected president.
And more than a year later, even after their Deep State sabotage has been shown again
and again to be a lie, they refuse to own up to how they undermined an election.

The officials, including CNN pundit and professional fabricator James Clapper — a man
who was nearly charged for perjury for lying to Congress — signed a letter saying that
the laptop “has the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

What proof did they have? By their own admission, none. “We do not know if the emails . . .
are genuine or not,” the letter said. They’re just “suspicious.” Why? Because they hurt
Biden’s campaign, that’s evidence enough.

Keep in mind this was written Oct. 19, 2020, five days after The Post published its first
story. Neither Joe Biden nor Hunter Biden had denied the story, they simply deflected
questions. Didn’t these security experts think that if this was disinformation, the Biden
campaign would have yelled to the heavens that the story was false?

Meanwhile, though the letter was advertised as being signed by people who worked
“for presidents of both political parties,” a majority of the officials were Democrats.

Politico picked up the letter and ran the false headline “Hunter Biden story is Russian
disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.” That headline is still online today, even though
the letter clearly says they don’t know if it’s Russian disinformation.

That headline was tweeted out by legions of Democrats, including current White House
spokeswoman Jen Psaki, as proof that it was all a con. That tweet also is still up despite
being proven false.

Thus pure speculation by a group of biased officials became gospel among the media.
This was “fake news,” and could be safely ignored.

Keep in mind that Twitter already had banned The New York Post a few days before. The
rationale was that this was “hacked materials,” even though it wasn’t — and Twitter had no
evidence to think it was. A Facebook official, meanwhile, said it wasn’t going to allow the
sharing of The Post’s story until it was “fact checked” by a third party — a check that never
happened.

Thus, Big Tech, former government officials, and the media conspired together to bury a story.

No, not just bury — create a false narrative that flipped the script to make Joe Biden the victim
of a conspiracy.

I think the DOJ might have learned their lesson and actually done a proper investigation this time. This case looks so much stronger than any of the other ones, I think Trump might actually be guilty. Considering they have him on tape showing a document to a reporter and to staff while admitting it was still classified and he should have declassified it but didn't and it is too late I think he is screwed. That means he is admitting to possession and knowledge of classified material he knows he is not supposed to have. I am interested to hear the defense arguments but I can't see many ways to attack this outside a few rather weak ones.

My question to you is this:
What if Trump really did knowingly have classified documents that he knew he should not have had? Do we toss that all out because we don't trust the DOJ over past wrongdoings?

The Hunter Laptop is a mixed bag because it contains lots of information that isn't very useful in a prosecution against Hunter. But it also contains some circumstantial information that seems to be leading to more evidence that President Biden may be corrupt. Nothing conclusive yet from what has been made public but definitely some smoke. In the beginning I too thought the Hunter Laptop was just too good to be true, it really wasn't very believable. It wasn't till later more evidence came out that started to make it look like a real story.

I think there is just too much preconceived notions here. No matter what the DOJ does people will look at it through their lenses. They could do a spotless investigation and find Trump broke serious laws and the MAGA crowd won't believe it. It is the same how the anti-Trump leftists have now become such supporters of the FBI and minimized abuse of the justice system because they see something against Trump. The Ukraine story is a perfect example. You had Biden say something questionable and you had Trump say something questionable and both sides interpret those statements in ways that are beneficial to their own side. My take was that the statements by both Biden and Trump were possible signs of corruption but there just wasn't enough to prove either guilty. There was enough plausible deniability for both.

We know Biden had classified documents unsecured at his residence, and for all we know they spanned 50 years of his political career.  Why are they only now surfacing?

We know Hillary had an illegal email server set up to skirt FOIA requests, didn't turn that information over when she left State, and had very highly classified information on her server and other devices.

But you want to ask a hypothetical about Trump?

Yet, you want to ignore those obvious crimes while saying it would be wrong if we didn't investigate whether Trump broke a law?

How do you not see the double standard?  One side can't be wrong if the other side is never held accountable when they blatantly break the law.

Equal application of the law is necessary if it is to be justly applied at all.

Comparing Biden (and Pence BTW) to Trump is disingenuous here. Biden and Pence turned over the documents when they were discovered, Trump didn't. That is huge by itself because that means Trump then had knowledge and still kept possession in violation of the law. Imagine I picked up a wallet off the ground thinking it was mine and it turned out to be yours. If I handed it back to you or turned it over to police there would be no case of theft. If, however, I refused to give it back to you or turn it into police upon learning it wasn't mine then a theft will have occurred.

No need for whataboutism, the question here is Trump. The fact Hillary may have gotten away with something illegal has no bearing on whether Trump violated the law.

Just answer the question, it is a simple question.

You mean like the email Hillary sent her staffer to put classified emails on the "low side" while she was out of the country because she didn't have access to the "high side?"

Nothing wrong about that.  It's just national security information being transmitted to inside a foreign country without proper encryption or secure severs.

i was waiting for you to call it that.

it's not a whataboutism.  it's a hijacking of the nation's justice system by one political faction who is then weaponizing it against their enemies.

You think the law matters.  It can't matter as long as the scales of justice are out of balance.

Why are you fighting so hard to spin this as a single case in a vacuum?  Try getting a grasp on the bigger picture.
