There were a number of reasons Trump wanted TikTok banned in the US, the most obvious is the app is a China product.  No telling what kind of espionage or sleeper cell functions lurk in that code.

Second is the content.  Nothing i've ever seen posted there (through third hand reports) has any value or benefit for anyone other than the advertisers and associated content providers.

China may be using the same basic apps for their local version, but the code is secondary to the content when comparing the two. Theirs is educational and motivational.  Ours is a complete and total dumpster fire -- dumpsters that are full of feces.

It was only in the late 1960s that the government and sugar industry started pushing high carb low fat foods so you wouldn't start to see so much obesity till later as foods and diets shifted.
