IDK, the convo never came up as it wasn't important.

I don't ask people their pronouns when I talk to them.

Yeah, I hear you.  I would be kinda hesitant to ask them unless we become friends and understand each other.

I've seen these guys(?) scrap.  They can scrap.

You don't want to get rough with the big ones, but the little ones regularly have horrible stuff happen to them when they get caught out on their own.
Cops often assume they are prostitutes and don't investigate, downgrading crimes to keep the stats low.
They understand two tiered justice and the need for reliable self defense. Coco is probably getting a ton of hate mail right now.

i don't use someone's pronouns other than "you" or "we" (singular/plural) when i talk to them.  Why would I?

The pronouns people choose for themselves are ordinarily for use when you're speaking about them to someone else.

I guess if you're with a group you might use a third person pronoun.  But, again, that's not talking "to them," but rather about them to another party.  You just happen to be within hearing range of the person you're referring to.

This is why it never came up.  I used "you" a lot.

Dis braddah can scrap if he wanted to (referring to Coco).  Maybe that's why he's anti police and knows that cops cannot be everywhere at once to protect you.  Maybe he even has some personal XP in the matter.

I will contact Coco later about 2A stuff once he's in office.

I was a union member most of my working life.  There were times I didn't quite agree with the leadership.

Problem with Hawaii is our strong unions.  I understand people want job security to provide for their families and the leaders of the unions play on this.  Higher wages for the members equals more money for the union leaders and the union.

But I remember countless times when elections for union leaders came around, and the opposing candidate asks, what good is all these high wages if there is no work available?  What is better, high wages and no jobs or steady work at competitive wages?

The younger members usually vote for higher wages.  Visions of new F-150 and GMC Trucks dance in their minds then cry when they buy the truck and get laid off for lack of work.

Yeah, Hawaii citizens will shape their destiny in this banana republik.  And the elite in government and the unions will laugh all the way to the bank.

edited to add:  if you think things are bad now, it will be worse if the outcome in November favors the team that loves to tax you for everything AND the kitchen sink.  Let big government think, care for you, and tell you how high to jump.

I wonder if union dues are worth it? Wages without union intervention vs. with. All I see with unions is another layer of corrupt, nepo politicians that tell you they are somehow affirming your future and rewarding themselves with your money. I.e. former union lead for electrical workers. The dude hired his family and paid them well 6 figures salaries, vacays and rigged elections.

I blame Prince for this.

Or is it The Artist Formerly Known as Prince?

Or maybe just The Artist?

Apparently it's cool to create your own name or pronouns, and even cooler to change them periodically.

I'd hate having to take English tests on pronouns in today's Libtarded schools.

If he's in office, I will work on meeting in person to discuss 2a bills. Prob take some HIFICO officers with me. We did the same when C&C Tam took office.   I think he was willing to meet just cause he was a noob at the time.

I'll even request before hand to change the HRS134-9 and delete all sensitive places.  Need to feel out how much he is willing to work with someone who's pro 2A.  Can't just go in and say delete all of HRS134.

i'd go a step further and ask for a statute that prohibits any entity below the state level from making gun laws.  That includes city councils and chiefs of police via their "Rules of the Chief" BS.

Many other states have that law so you aren't being criminalized in one city or county for things that are perfectly legal in others.

Just a thought.  Better than having to hash out this sensitive places  issue now, and something else later.  Guns are protected at the federal level, which means any lower level laws must be enacted at the state level per the Constitution.   The entire state needs to be in sync with the state's statutes.

I think HI does have preemption, which is why we don't see many gun ordinances at the county level.  The sensitive places ordinance was the first gun item in a while.  And the states one takes priority over the city one.  I think the city passed theirs just to say F-U to Bruen and have something in place until the state passed theirs.

So, either the city passed an illegal "sensitive places" ordinance that violates that preemption statute,
or there must be an exception in that preemption statute that says, "If the state hasn't gotten around to it yet?"

The city passed it before the state passed theirs.  So nothing illegal done procedure wise.  Still unconstitutional though.
