finally got the Ruger American Rimfire home
threaded free floated barrel, adjustable 3-5 lb trigger, rail mounted from Ruger, takes any 10/22 mag, shiny blueing.  looks nice.

I had some extra parts lying around so i put them on
I ordered some low pro scope rings, these ones in the pic are off my airgun, so i'll replace these when the others come in

Nice looking rimfire you have there. I am curious to see how it shoots with decent ammo.

I see you picked up the 719 HV Match ammo. I have had good luck with that ammo. However, I have had even better luck with their 922A Target/Match ammo. It is cheaper and works better in my guns. However, I have also noticed differences between lots so if you find some and it works great, go back and get more from the same lot. Also, I have had good luck with CCI SV ammo. I run this in my target grade pistols as well as my rifles. When you can find it at SEC it is $7.95/100 and $6.95/100 if you buy boxes in bulk. I also am a fan of the Aguila Gold Eagle Match ammo which shoots similar to the CCI SV. Used to be able to get it cheap from CMP. They have discontinued using that name and have renamed all of their target/match ammo. So I would assume that Aguila higher end target/match ammo will do well. If you can still find the Golden Eagle brand you should buy it. I just bought some Aguila Super Extra and Super Extra Subsonic at Sports Authority. I have not tried that yet. This is their lower end ammo so I won't expect anything spectacular from it. But for me it is fun to try.

I went up and down the line one day 5 or 6 years ago looking for which brand of .22 ammo the club shoots. The club shoots down at the far left side of the rifle range on Sundays. When I checked them out they were mostly shooting SK Standard Plus which is (was?) available at Prime Sports along with SK Rifle Match. The Lapua that is at Prime Sports is the same as the Standard Plus. I bought a brick of the Standard Plus 5 or 6 years ago and it was awesome stuff. I just bought some of the SK ammo and Norma ammo but I have not had a chance to try it out yet. At the last gun show I bought a brick of Armscor .22 ammo. I won't hold my breath on this being great ammo. But you never know. Also, I found a Youtube video where this ammo was loaded hot and blew up a guys gun. I have not tried it yet.

At the lower end the Federal Champion works well in my revolver. And the Federal Auto Match works well in my bolt action target rifle. Both of these are still above average in my other guns so they are good for plinking. Last but not least is Blazer ammo. I have had good luck with this cheap ammo but it is very hard to find. Some use it exclusively as target grade ammo and shoot the silhouette matches next door using Blazer.

I would recommend to stay away from Remington .22 ammo as it very dirty and I found not terribly consistent. This could have changed since my experience 5 or so years ago. So YMMV. Oh, and one more I have tried. Federal American Eagle in the red box. I assume I got a bad batch of this ammo as I bought a brick of it a few years ago and it was terrible! It smelled weird, sounded weird and I could not hit anything at 50 yards with it. Plus it wouldn't cycle properly in any of my semis. I was going to write Federal about it but ended up finding I could still hit a few things on the Silhouette side with my revolver. So I used it up in that. I assume it was a bad batch and probably is not like that normally.

There is a lot more I can tell you but I don't have all my notes in front of me. I have probably tried every brand and type of .22 available on the island.
