I'm occasionally stunned by how much people don't know.

I have a CETME "battle rifle" - your typical .308 monster. I keep a Spanish, curved 20 round mag in it instead of the straight German ones.

A visiting friend of mine from the mainland (and originally from Germany) was curious about the guns I had so I showed them to him. He thought the CETME was an AK-47.

Had it been in black furniture instead of wood he might have thought it was an "M16" instead.

So the names people will know, whether they know what those guns are or not:

AK-47 (every rifle with a "banana clip" and a wood stock)
M16 (every black rifle with a magazine evident)
Glock (Every black automatic pistol)
Colt 45 (Every non-black auto pistol for some older folks)
"9 Millimeter" (That's a pistol, right? What the gangsters like to use?)
44 Magnum (Every revolver)
UZI (Every SBR with its stock folded)
Double Barrel Shotgun (Every shotgun with a wood stock)
Pump Action Shotgun (Every other shotgun)
Hunting Rifle (every rifle that has no magazine evident, almost always wood and without pistol grip)
Sniper Rifle (every black "hunting rifle")
Machine Gun (any rifle with an evident magazine that doesn't look like it could be in an Old Western movie.)

I'd ammend that to

Glock (every polymer pistol)
Beretta (every metal pistol)

i know a lot of people who think that HPD carries Berettas.
