I think the timing is too obvious for democrats to claim they weren't coordinated at some level however I would suspect that there was competition amongst themselves as well so they can get recognition.

Having said that, I think the classified documents case is the easiest to prove. If they had picked one or two specific charges, instead of the dozens they threw at him, they could have made it much easier to get their case to trial quickly. If all they went with was the refusal to return the classified documents they would have had a very easy charge to prove

I think the classified document case does have actual merit to it though unlike the others which are really stretching to justify a charge.

Have you handled classified documents?

General Discussion / Re: Is Mike Glover screwed?
« on: May 13, 2024, 03:18:06 PM »
He was arrested for domestic violence.  His gf's statement in the police report sounds sketchy.  I mean, who locks the door when giving their child a bath?  But Mike messed up to by having a friend contact her during the no contact order. And did so by telling his friend this over the jail phone (all calls are recorded).

He already had to surrender all his guns and ammo for violating the no contact order.  But if found guilty of DV, then he could lose his 2A right.  I'm sure he will fight this to the end due to him losing his 2A right.  As in no plea deal.

It will be interesting to see how this will play out.  There are 2 sides to every story.  Except his violation of the no contact order.

He has been outspoke on the feds ever since his preppers group was designated a domestic terrorist org.  His vids also mention other sketchy things the feds do and stuff overseas.  I wonder if this was their way to silence him.  Kicking in his door would be very dangerous, so would pulling him over in his car.  So go thru the gf to slowly get him in a bad spot.

General Discussion / red flag laws = safe policing

“Some states make protecting and serving the public in a law enforcement career more appealing than others,” explained Cassandra Happe, an analyst with the report. “The best states for police officers offer competitive compensation, supplemented by solid training that helps minimize the chances of deadly violence between officers and civilians. State-level policies like ‘red flag laws’ or ‘Blue Alerts’ also contribute to a better environment for police.”

Some of the proactive measures being employed by the top ranked states have potential to set up Hawaii’s law enforcement officers for success in their work as well as in the community.

For example, Illinois and Connecticut have developed what is known as “red flag” laws and “Blue Alerts”. These systems strategies allow police officers to handle issues like mental health crises and the use of force that reduce job hazards for police while improving outcomes in police-community interactions.

Ultimately, this report emphasizes the importance of resource allocation, training and policy in shaping the effectiveness and safety of law enforcement.

Need vs want.  I wanted 1, but don't really need 1.

if the power is out statewide, then so is the internet and cell towers.  So the only electronics I could use is a TV to play DVD's.  But, I have no DVD's.  For news coverage, we have a hand crankable radio.  Not sure if the cable company relies on power as well.

My food in the fridge isn't that much, so there is no need to power it.  I have other types of SHTF foods.

Some dude almost smashed into me head on. Nice, huh?

I have to watch for drivers in the bike lane in that area. They avoid the speed hump and drive in the bicycle lane.

An Ocean View man accused of kidnapping, felony abuse, and terroristic threatening has been granted supervised release.

Ian Winther, 50, was arrested for an alleged incident that happened at a home on King Kalakaua Lane in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision back on April 29.

He is accused of tying up and assaulting a 27-year-old woman on Monday. According to investigators, Winther tied the victim to a chair but allowed her to free herself, all the while continuing to physically assault her and threatened “to conduct lewd acts on her.”
