Having said that, there is something that needs to be addressed. Recently the Instagram and Facebook profile for Hifico posted a photo of a bunch of policemen sitting with the new chief standing in front of them with a sarcastic comment about the officer's tasers being out and how they must not have holsters. I asked a cop friend of mine and he told me that every day before they go out on patrol they have to take the cartridge out of their taser and do a test fire. They all do it at the same time so they all have their tasers out on the desk ready to go.
The problem I see is that the comment was not only without merit, it was also useless and spiteful. I don't know who is posting under Hifico (I have my suspicions) but I think this is a bad image for the organization. People can post their criticisms on facebook and this forum under their own accounts but I think Hifico should remain professional. Just my two cents.

Let me start off by saying that I appreciate all the work Hifico has done in restoring and protecting out rights. I appreciate the updates, organization, and events that they put on.

This way they can then re-holster the tasers. Never assume the cartridge was taken out. Maybe your "friend" can give the SOP for roll call and gear checking. That would help clarify what your "friend" told you. Or is the SOP secret and cannot be told, like how the emails to the FBI from HPD about RAPBACK is a secret, thus 95% redacted.
HPD's manuals are online. Like what gear they're allowed to use, what ammo, etc...So a SOP on their roll call isn't a big deal.
Also maybe HIFICO doesn't have the same "friend" who can explain their gear testing SOP. So maybe you should have your "friend" explain it. Help educate those who don't know.

But since you didn't start a post about it, I guess you're OK with it. I mean can any other officers show up in uniform to support a bill? I have posted about both here. HIFICO has posted about both on their social medias.

Based on your post, it sounds like he was butt-hurt due to getting kicked off the HIFICO Social Media accounts, so he decided to post his grievances here and calling them "unprofessional."
He seems to hold others to a higher standard than himself, since he had no problem jumping around from FB to IG to 2aHawaii to have his complaint broadcast to everybody.
Another prime example of trying to get attention for himself. I highly doubt he was trying to help HIFICO avoid getting an "unprofessional" image. He only comes out of the woodwork to post contrary and argumentative opinions.
If it were not about getting attention, he would use private communications rather than making it a public spectacle.

Whoever posted didn't care or want to be corrected, he appeared to make mean comments. It is no secret I have a bias towards cops. My dad was one, I have a few friends who are cops and I like what they do as a profession. I have met a few rude ones but have had more positive experiences than negative ones, even when I was stopped for speeding. Here on 2A there is a range of opinions on them, some hate them, some like them, and everything inbetween. Thats fine, and I think the discussion is quite interested and important to have. I have no problem with sincere critique of the police department but I think that Hifico should be professional about it and this comment was unprofessional. If you think its fine to do so under the Hifico name then we will have to agree to disagree. You criticized me before for not stating an opinion so here is my opinion.
Regarding the procedures I did find the policy on their website and posted it in a previous reply. Could they test it right at the beginning of lineup then put them away? Sure, but for whatever reason they test them at the end of lineup. With the cartridge removed the taser doesn't shoot anything out and the cartridges are big so its easy to see whether it is loaded, not like a bullet in a firearm. Tasers also need to be recharged so they are often left attached to a cable sitting on a table anyway. Considering they get shot with them in the academy I don't see a significant risk to set an unloaded one on the table.

Goggle what a troll is. They even called you out specifically because this wasn't the first time. "This isn't 2ahawaii, go troll elsewhere". Another issue with the way you make a decision on a topic could be you require way too much evidence to support a side. Logic steps in at a certain point where enough evidence is provided, but you might require a slam dunk type of evidence. Which again is fine because everyone thinks a certain way, we are not all the same. But for me, I will only reply as I have time to. It sounds like HIFICO is making fun of how long it takes to function check a taser. Then add in what I posted about the chief walking in mid test, he should wait until it's complete before giving his PR speech. This could cause a distraction to the process.
You think the missing cartridge is easy to see, but we all don't have eyes as sharp as you. So maybe the guy across the room cannot see this.
In the end, you're mad because you got called out and muted. We call this a clue.

It is a word to describe something in debate tactics and you appeared to be misusing it so I wanted to correct it.
I am not going to bring my friend in on this. I am telling you his comment was respectful. You can believe me or not, doesn't really matter since it got deleted there is no way for you to see it yourself.
Would a judge hear about mean FB posts in regard to this case? No probably not though I wouldn't want to give them any ammo. Consider though that it isn't just about convincing judges. Hifico relies at least somewhat on membership (never asked for a financial breakdown), so what happens if people get turned off and stop donating? What happens if they stop looking at updates so they don't come to meetings and protests?
Case in point, most, if not all, of the activism I have participated in here came from finding out about it on 2aHawaii.com. If this place turns toxic and people stop coming and therefore don't learn about activism, Hifico, bill updates, etc.

Hifico relies at least somewhat on membership (never asked for a financial breakdown), so what happens if people get turned off and stop donating? What happens if they stop looking at updates so they don't come to meetings and protests?
Case in point, most, if not all, of the activism I have participated in here came from finding out about it on 2aHawaii.com. If this place turns toxic and people stop coming and therefore don't learn about activism, Hifico, bill updates, etc.

I'm don't know the details and didn't see the conversation in question but will have a discussion on it later. i didn't pay much attention to the post and comments to it because it didn't seem to serve a 2A purpose or forward us toward a goal. The purpose of the post was that police officers don't practice safe handling techniques which is hypocritical to some police officers and lawmakers that push gun safety and restrictions down our throat. I don't have an issue with whats going on in the picture and maybe it needs context and background, it was taken from some kind of HPD video I didn't see. The only safety issue I can think of is tasers should be treated like firearms as some officers mistake tasers for their firearm when stressed, so therefore should be handled better. All of this should've been explained better in the post. HIFICO's misison is to unite the 2A community and education and making things happen. We're not here for fan service, preaching to the choir, or making enemies. Whatever principles we tell others to follow, we should follow ourselves.

It is no secret I have a bias towards cops. My dad was one, I have a few friends who are cops and I like what they do as a profession.
No one here does anything illegal.

Didn't see a point of messaging the facebook/instagram accounts since the guy who clearly didn't like me pointing out his inaccuracies likely wouldn't care if I sent him a PM. My friend was not a poster on Hifico's page, there would be no history of some alleged "troll" behavior for him. The exchange was only a few replies, maybe 4 by me and 3 by him, we didn't go 3 pages deep. He appeared to simply not like I called him out on his behavior.
I don't see where this conversation will go from here though, I don't think I will convince you the behavior was undesirable.

A person claimed he called HPD with questions about applying for a concealed carry permit and the HPD person told him he had to bring his gun in to apply. (Could be misunderstanding regarding needing serial number.)
Person brought in their firearm in to apply for a carry permit and had a HPD personnel at the window tell the person they couldn’t bring the firearm in but could leave it in their car.
London caught that and had a discussion with the window. (Illegal. Can’t leave your firearm in the car. Place to keep. Still transporting to HPD even though HPD tells you leave it in the car ? )
Hear say but I know the person who saw it.
HPD is messed up.

Same pretty much holds true for guns at your home or place of sojourn. If you're going to dinner or what have you, you're allowed to leave the gun in your room/home unattended.
So, I can see the officer's point of view. In your hand or in your car, it's at the police station and legal to "keep" there.
"Keep" is not synonymous with "Bear" or "Possess." I think of "keep" as "store". (That would make "Storekeeper" rather redundant, huh?)

wasn't there a guy that left his shotgun in the car at Ala Moana. The shotgun was stolen from his vehicle. He reported it to HPD and they arrested him for place to keep.
The mall is not one of the specified "places to keep." The police station is.

Ive seen guys get snapped at cause they brought their cased gun into the application side. Guess this firearm division area is not a place to keep.
I witnessed a cop say "cause theres no bullet proof glass on this side". Guess for the registration side, cops protected behind the bullet proof glass, and screw everyone else whos waiting in line.

Sorry, I meant my friend was not a regular poster on the Facebook page for Hifico, he didn't have a history of posting so no history that could be considered a record of trolling.
