If I took the CCW class last year, would my CCW affidavit still be valid? If it is then I just need to redo my shooting qual and get an updated handgun safety affidavit?

yup exactly, I wouldn't receive the affidavit from the instructor if I did not complete the course. what difference does it make when the affidavit was notarized.

I'm reminded of the day my divorce was granted.

I received word that the divorce would be final (future tense) after my soon-to-be-ex, my one minor daughter, and I attended a lecture/class designed to make sure the younger family members were aware of why the divorce was happening and what to expect.

So, we attended the meeting at 5 PM the day we were scheduled.  Note this was after business hours.

Side note: Looking around the room at the courthouse, there were a LOT of people getting divorced, and those were just the ones with young kids ... and just for that one month!!

After the meeting, I pulled up our divorce info on the Hawaii family court case search website.  Sure enough, the divorce was final -- and dated that same day.

The final date was not the date the judge issued a decision granting the divorce, but the date we completed the required meeting -- a contingency as it were.

I see no difference between that process and the training affidavits.  If the letters are handed out contingent upon successful completion of the class, then the date the affidavit was signed is immaterial.  The completion date can be included in the document as well.  Possession of the letter should be proof of completion, since the trainer would only hand them to those who finished the class.

HPD is making up their own rules again.

Is anyone (HRA, HIFICO, etc.) taking these details of delays and paperwork snafus for possible action?  Lawsuit, strongly worded letter to the police commission, etc?

How many times have you applied for a permit with that same handgun affidavit?  Seems like the pistol affidavit dates would have been caught when you got your pistol permit(s), not just when you applied for a CCL.

Maybe they didn't care, because they weren't trying to deny you a permit.  Seems like they are going above and beyond to find any reason they can to delay and deny Licenses.

I purchased 2 handguns so far with the affidavit and I am picking up my PTA on Wednesday for another handgun. So yeah all this time they did not notice the discrepancy and they probably would never have if I didnt apply for the CCL.

Just received a call from one of the officers handling my paperwork, told me that my handgun affidavit was notarized before the date I took the class. So I have to get an updated affidavit and turn it in. This was after waiting 4 months since the last time I was contacted. Hopefully I dont get put back in the bottom of the pile now.

Hi I am new to the forums and sport. I am having trouble reserving a time. I have filled out all my information but it still does not let me select a time and date to reserve for any part of the range. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit- Nevermind, I figured it out, I was suppose to be in the activities tab to register.

Thanks,

Sean
