Negative, called them hazmat fee is ridiculous

Last time I ordered primers we needed to order at least 120k primers to make it worthwhile - this was pre-plandemic. And, it shipped via air freight. I think the fee was around $200.00.

General Discussion / Re: get a spotting scope
« on: December 24, 2024, 06:08:50 PM »
The junk thing is that spotting scopes can be so expensive and they seem to jump from $50 cheapo ones to $300 scopes for anything decent. I made the mistake of buying a $50 one a while back and while it sufficed for 100 yard sighting with an AR as long as the targets were the shoot-n-see type I wish I had gotten a better one because the image is just not that sharp.
Ha !!  Get at least one that costs $850.

$300?

I just ordered three large packs of TP from Sam's Club.   Free shipping & around 30% cheaper than buying at the brick & mortar store.   BUT, you need a PLUS membership.

General Discussion / Re: Kokohead 5 round magazine limit
« on: July 12, 2024, 03:55:03 PM »
The past RSOs said revolvers are not.included as they don't have a magazine.  Just get clarification from the supervisor as there are a lot of new RSOs now.
This was from an old-timer RSO that I know.

Doesn't apply to revolvers.  I'm guessing it doesn't apply to bolt or lever guns,  gotta confirm with the RSO.

It does apply to revolvers.  I was told by a RSO that he counted six shots from my revolver.  He reminded me of the five round rule.

My contribution.  Don't shoot corroded ammo.  And don't shoot lots of corroded ammo to practice misfire drills.

^^This!  A friend gave me several boxes of ammo they found sorting through items of a departed family member.  Mostly reloads, but had some factory ammo - all 38 spl.  Didn't know the loads and how it was stored.

Pulled apart all of the ammo, fertilized my yard, tossed the bullets, and kept the brass.  It is not worth it to shoot unknown ammo.

Power Valley has 714 8-pound jugs of Varget in stock . . . $389.00 each before freight & hazmat.

These prices were not that long ago.   Just before the plandemic.

i often find eBay sellers are less restrictive with their shipping options.

From my reading, Bear Spray is okay to ship to all 50 states via ground carrier.

The listing I posted above shows free ground shipping to Hawaii, $8.50 to upgrade to USPS Priority Mail.
That is what prompted my question.  A friend of mine just purchased two of those bear sprays with priority shipping for $60.00.

People sue for all kinds of dumb reasons. To use something intentinal for self defense thats not designed for humans, esp since HI has no bears, opens one up.

Shit happens and it might not be the badguy suing, but their family if hes seriously injured as a result to being incopacitated by bear spray.

Up to OP though.

Got it.  Better off using lethal force to stop the threat since that is what 125 grain 357 hollow points are made for.  Too bad that I don't have any . . .

Why not bear spray?  Longer reach, more potent, and creates a fog versus having to get a direct hit on the attacker.
Exactly !!  Mahalo FJ!  "Regular" pepper engages close to the distance the bad guy is able to stab you multiple tines.

Is bear spray legal to own and use for self defense or for defense of others or for protection of property?  I do not see any restrictions in R.O.H Section 41-37.3.

Thoughts?

Of course I am not planning on buying any.

I'm curious as to how this happened.  I've loaded over 20k+ rounds in my Dillon 550b and stuck 308 brass in the die more than once.  Never had a problem with the press.
