1. How do dogs tolerate loud gunfire, while humans need to wear ear protection?
The times ive gone hunting and my friends brought their dogs, the dogs were used to push and were far away from the shooters so the sound didnt bother them.  The times when the dogs were hanging around us as we shot at deer, they were smart enough to move away from us, probably learned over time.  I probably should, but Ive never worn ear pro while hunting and the only time my ears have rung was when someone else let off their rifle too close to me or if someone was using a muzzle brake.

2. Lifting, dressing and carrying a dead carcass can strain the back. In fact, back spasms are a common result of anything strenuous, or using motion that you ordinarily would not employ in daily life. Bringing a heat pad into the woods seems to be impractical. The course never discusses this type of injury.
Never thought about this.  I guess the key is to know your limits and dont try and push yourself too far past them.  If youre tired, rest, no shame in taking 5 vs trying to man it and ending up hurt.  That being said, I exercise regularly and when I know I have a hunting trip coming up I do extra leg and back workouts.

3. Who carries an emergency locator beacon, and do you need one in HI?
I havent felt the need for a emergency beacon, but I do have an oh shit kit with some survival stuff in it (flashlight, signal mirror, whistle, etc).  Like someone else mentioned, tell people where you are going and when you are expected back.

4. Is there a one weapon limit on state/federal hunting grounds? Wouldn't a compound bow put you at risk of being overrun by a wild boar? This video raises a lot of questions about boar hunting. Long arms are used, with bad muzzle control very apparent at certain times.
Havent gotten into bow hunting yet, so arent familiar with those rules, sorry.

when I used to work at the airport over 10 yrs ago, there used to be tons of micros flying to the mainland almost daily.  Continental flight to either Little Rock or Dallas/Fort Worth if I remember correctly, one of those two.  Anyways, I wonder if they are as much of a problem on the mainland as they are down here.  We certainly dont hear about it

bought a case of brown bear 125gr sp from HGS.  Its been a while, but if i remember correctly it was around $200 for a case of 500.  Good for close work. wouldnt recommend on game past 150-200 yds

When I get to the gym, I see them sometimes in the Fisher lot.  And I also see the bum smoking Ba2 down the street with HPD in the Fisher lot.  But when I go back to my car later that night, no HPD around.  They do drive by occasionally, but that's only being there for a few seconds.  So any crime will just take place once they drive off.

Can our law makers create a law that says public property cannot be left on the sidewalk?  They came up with the bump stock bill very quickly...Unless the ACLU is being a PITA, that's why no laws were created.

There is a law about property being stored on public property, but the ACLU sued the city and won when the city would show up and start throwing stuff away.  Now the city has to give advanced notice of a sweep, give people time to move their stuff, inventory what theyre taking, and store it for 45 days before disposing of it.  Also, the city is only allowed to take certain things.

Snake Look iPhone Scope Adapter mounted on a Nikon M-308 4-16x42 800 BDC Scope. Only problem is the scope is mounted low so I had to remove the bottom nylon mounting screws cause the bolt will not clear when retracting. I also had to remove the rubber housing from the Otter Box case from the phone so it will secure better. But still works well.  I have a iPhone 7.  You can use both the scope zoom or the iPhone zoom in mode.

Cold Steel Pendleton knife. 

Fed Fusion or Hornady American Whitetail. 150 gr.  308.  Ive been pleased with both on deer.  Havent got to try on any hogs yet.  I picked up a couple boxes of Hornady Superformance 130 gr for my 270 win, havent shot anything with them yet though.

It is not such a huge leap to think as you are possibly doing when you see things like this.

San Bernardino is only 60 miles away from LA, which has the 2nd largest FBI field office in the nation after NY. Plus San Bernardino itself probably has a small local FBI/Fed office.  First word of an active shooter and every leo in the area is gonna respond.  60 miles hauling ass from LA should take no more than 2 hours to get there, faster if they jumped in a helicopter.

roll some cotton balls or dryer lint in petroleum jelly.
For storage, grab straws from a fast food place of your choice, preferably the ones with wider straws,
Cut the straws into about 1.5"- 2" sections, then seal 1 end of the straw,
Stuff the cotton ball or lint into the straw then seal the other end.
Store in a old pill bottle or ziploc bag. The straws keep the firestarters from getting wet, and you can just light  the straw when youre ready for your fire.
