.223 is going for a buck a round at SA... recently when they get.... >:(

If .22 was a buck a round on Maui for reals... I'd have a chit load of money right now.... :shaka: O0

Never heard that here yet...

Can tell you...

Haven't seen bulk .22 in a while... last I seen SA had 500 rds. for like $25 but that was many months ago... Never seen again....

Specialty/Match ammo .22 is going for a premium price, but nothing close to a dollar a round that I know of...

Guys and gals... Was tooling around the web last Sunday and looking at survival kits etc....Found this and thought it was way cool... a fun little project....

http://www.instructables.com/tag/type-id/?sort=none&q=altoids+tin+survival

Mini "Survival Kits" you make on your own with an altoids tin, household items, maybe some bought cheap items, and the good old fashion human brain...

*** Note,  we're part time preppers, have full on bob's (bug out bags) for everyone in the family, store, prep foods, goods, etc. etc. but though this would be a fun thing.... Your not gonna live off the little altoids tin for a month, but it may save your ass for a day or two and again is a fun little project...****

You basically keep it in a pocket, purse, hand bag, or whatever in case of an emergency....

If you read the above, again it tells you a "fun little project".... What does it matter what island you're on? Or mainland style??? That I can't even figure out what it has to do with anything???... but whatever... nuff said, no harm. no foul.... all G. Not worth an altoids tin of fuss....

Extra weight for guys on Oahu. Dump that tin for an extra MRE and a good compass.

Might be useful for outer island, but doubtful. Your fooling yourself if you think mainland style prepping works here. If I'm going in the bushes, I'm bringing snares, rope, and a shit ton of fire starters.

What you snaring? One tourist? LMAO!!!  get real brah,,,, you dissing one project I did with my kids...

Again, it's just a mini survival kit and exercise for us "survivalists"....

Here is what I fit in my standard altoids tin....

Mini Multi-tool knife... cheap hand out from a tool vendor, has a blade, mini screwdrivers, mini cork screw and file.
Mini bic lighter
Two Q-tips
Two paper clips
Five strike anywhere matches
Couple fish hooks
12lb. test fishing line, maybe 10' or so tightly wound
Two small ball leads and "baits"
One alcohol swab
Two band-aids
One asprin packet
One mini sewing kit I got from a hotel
Pair of foam ear plugs
Two suture strips
One anit-bacterial wipe
Folded up Tin Foil
One new razor blade

Got creative and made it fit in the tin. One piece of duct tape to keep it sealed and closed... (a very tight fit)

Again just a small little project for survival... adjust and create your own kit. :shaka:

A set of crutches is always nice...

It will sit in a corner or attic for years on end... till someone needs it... Then it is golden!

Trust me, I know first hand... Thaught a sprained ankled turned into a broken ankle...

Check goodwill, salvation army, maybe even yard sales for a cheap used set.

You can't do jack if you can't move around.... :-\
