Deals and Sales / Re: $20 "Pelican" Style Cases @ Sam's Club
« on: September 12, 2016, 05:18:53 PM »
Thanks for the heads up.  That is a pretty cool case and a good deal!

Hey no problem.  I try to avoid random purchases, but I really couldn't resist for the price.  Unlike anything I've seen before from either Sams or Costco.

Deals and Sales / $20 "Pelican" Style Cases @ Sam's Club
« on: September 12, 2016, 04:32:46 PM »
FYI
Was at Sam's Club (Honolulu) today and noticed they had a new product on the floor.  "Pelican" style hard cases for ~$20.  Very similar to the Pelican 1300 Series.  Marked as Sam's Club's "Members Mark" brand.  Made in China, but it has a very decent build quality.  I'm a Pelican case fanboy and these in my mind are great for the price.  They don't have the double throw latches or the automatic purge valve as Pelican's do, but they come with a manual valve, three layers of foam (lid, top layer, bottom layer), one of the layers are "pick and pluck," and it has the same removable ID nameplate that Pelican does.

Again for the price my initial impressions are VERY positive.  Not sure if I'd trust my most critical gear to it, but for a "throw-in-the-back-of-the-truck" case its a winner.  If you're interested in this kind of stuff I'd recommend picking one up to play with.

Rough external dimensions (LxWxH): 11" x 16" x 7"

Off Topic / Re: AT&T vs. Verizon Service?
« on: January 28, 2016, 09:26:06 PM »
Everyone, thanks so much for the replies!  You know you always see the "coverage" maps online and on TV, but you really don't know how it is out in the wild.  I think I'm going to end my relationship with AT&T and jump over to big red, good to hear everyone is having good luck with the service. Thanks! :shaka:

Off Topic / AT&T vs. Verizon Service?
« on: January 26, 2016, 07:45:09 PM »
So I'm looking to get some recommendations.  I've been with AT&T since the Cingular days, but as time has gone on I've found their service and cell coverage to be lacking.  Our family plan is almost at the end of its 24mo mark and I'm strongly considering moving the whole family over to Verizon.

For those guys with Verizon (or any other service really) how are you liking (or not liking) your cell coverage/service here on Oahu?  I work in town and but live out over by the Stadium if those locations mean anything for coverage.

Thanks in advance! ???

Nimitz have but only yellow and orange left. Got the last green one.

Amazon has the Pelican 1200 for $40.24 if anyone missed out on this deal.  Gotta wait for shipping, but not bad.

General Discussion / Re: What did you pick up at the gun show?
« on: October 06, 2013, 09:40:52 AM »
Got some 9mm from YG, a few non related gun items and a maxpedition micro edc organizer. As a whole I though the gun shows in the past and even the one at the beginning of the year during the panic had better selection. Was pretty disappointed this time. The SEC line was ridiculous too! But not too bad prices.

Iron Man 2

Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer of Hammer Industries, talking about weaponizing War Machine:

"These are the Cubans, baby. This is the Cohibas, the Montecristos. [picking up a small missile out of the box] This is a kinetic-kill, side-winder vehicle with a secondary cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine RDX burst. It's capable of busting a bunker under the bunker you just busted. If it were any smarter, it'd write a book, a book that would make Ulysses look like it was written in crayon. It would read it to you. This is my Eiffel Tower. This is my Rachmaninoff's Third. My Pietà. It's completely elegant, it's bafflingly beautiful, and it's capable of reducing the population of any standing structure to zero. I call it "The Ex-Wife."

Best line of the movie.

Legal and Activism / Re: GUN LEGISLATION VOTING RESULTS
« on: April 17, 2013, 03:40:59 PM »
This is too close for me. I hope you all decide to vote for those who will support your rights in the upcoming election cycles. These outrages need to stop. Feedom isn't free or easy.  We must all do our part.

Yes I agree, this was a little too close for comfort.  We need a list of those that voted yay-nay and keep them in mind next election cycle.

EDIT:  Some of these were pro-gun.  Read more about them here: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/17/u-s-senate-shoots-down-background-check-amendment/
