I'm curious why we don't have a paid system, with short (30min-2hour?) reserved slots. If public golf courses do it, why wouldn't it work at Kokohead. I for one, don't mind dropping $5 (or more if it helped add features) to hit the silhouette side, i'm sure most wouldn't bat an eye to do the same for an hour on the Target sides. I would assume some kind of limits on per person/per day for reservations, with open timeslots as first come first served afterwards.

..  but seriously, If we are going to grow the sport, and get more shooters involved, things will hopefully only get busier. We need to make this a more open and inviting experience for the newcomers & the regulars. Not a ...  wait for hours and hours just to get a seat thing. I mean, we already all did that at HPD to register ...  amirite?!

i also wouldnt mind paying, and i agree it will only get busier, so for now everyone should go early.... and no complain..... especially for now anything to deal withs guns, your wating in line at registration, store and the range..

I thought there was a rifle bag (with rifle inside) stolen from the rifle range last year as well.

Not sure about the details from yesterday.  Sounds like basically the owner walked away for a little while and when they got back the gun was gone.  Not sure if it was during a target change or something like that.  Yeah, the ROs are watching the line closely, but that's still a LOT of stuff to keep an eye on.  I usually go to the range by myself and I've gone to take a leak and never felt uneasy about that before.  I might get a cable lock for future range sessions if I'm by myself.
There are a number of LIFE instructors on here.  I was at the range yesterday talking story with the other instructors since I was there to help a friend test his handgun.

I feel the same way... happened to me too I went range bymyself, and ate too much in the morning, and then had to go poop super bad after about an hour of shooting, but I held it and waited to get my target and pack up.... I swear to god almost Shart my pants!!! now I always invite or make sure u bomb before the "line is hott" haha...

for the class I would love to go but weekends I'm on call so hard to plan stuff.. the videos looks like fun on the website!! I definatly could use more handgun time

Almost forgot.  I heard the RO of the silhouette side getting notified that a gun was stolen from a bench from the bullseye pistol range.  At least I believe they said bullseye range.  That HPD was called down and report filed.  Must have been before 1:30 pm since I didn't see anything while I was there.

Anyways, be careful of your equipment.  Something that I was afraid of, especially on the rifle range, as the the craziness with prices of guns that we're going through now.

the last time I went to the rifle range and it was raining... I put my bag by the benches well later when I went home I noticed couple boxes of my 12 guage ammo was gone!! now I leave my crap at or under the bench! We definatly gotta keep an eye out for your equipment and others... Do u know how someone stole it? that's crazy!

LIFE class today was fun.  Nice to see that the wife is starting to get the bug.   She was a bit intimidated at first, but the instructors did an excellent job of encouraging her to just relax and shoot.  After failing in my attempts to teach her golf and how to lift weights properly, I learned my lesson and left the teaching to the professionals.  I tested her when we got home and she remembered everything.  Thanks again to the LIFE Instructors today(Bill, Lyle, and the rest).  I've been shooting for years, and I still managed to learn a lot.  Thank you for everything.

LIFE class? can I get more info on that?

I was at the range today.... I was expecting it to be crazy so I got there about 5:15am... was SUPRISED to see most benches taken, I guess I planned it right... I got a decent bench 92 but atleast I was blasting away did take 2 breaks for water and a musubi.... but I do DisLIKE when "friends" take up 4 benches and usually only couple guys shooting at a time, I mean I respect the old timers, and their info, but they could have just used 2 benches that would have been used properly and given 2 to the people waiting... but hey early bird always gets the worm too! was a fun day wind was dead-to minimal...  :geekdanc:

What Gen, is the SIG 556R? if its the first Gen then yeah it had troubles with the mags/extraction/light firing strikes cause they rushed production without much R&D, but Sig Had a warranty for free just had to send it to them and wait, did a lot of researched on people owning them and said they run flawlessly with cheap steel ammo, and mags.... well if u pass up the Sig u can push the seller my way, cause that's what I'm looking for :D
