My understanding for private handgun transfers is that you would need to sign the back of the seller's current handgun registration, which is why everybody reccommends completing the transaction at the police station.

I had too much time on my hands so I decided to create this diagram for 45 shooters who reload their own ammo.
While browsing other forums on the mainland, I noticed a surprising amount of poor quality reloading advice.
The dimensions shown are actually a compromise of functional reliability and accuracy. So the average shooter will find it useful.
As far as powder selection goes, I've tried many and documented actual velocity measurements from my personal firearms.
However I have not tried any of the relatively new powders on the market. I have too much old stock I need to burn.
For this caliber, I favor WW231 or HP38. I have had good results with Bullseye, Trap100 (obsolete), and Clays.
Unique is also useful for special purpose ammo. I can supply specific results if you have a specific request.

Got any recipes for Montana Gold 230gr JHPs over bullseye powder?

Welcome to the club! As stated, the 700 5r is a bit partial to 175 gr. projectiles due to its 11.25:1 twist rate, but just about anything is fine if you're shooting shorter distances. I took up reloading just to curb the cost of constantly buying .308 and that is another hobby in itself that I really enjoy. Happy shooting!

Depends on what caliber you're looking for, I went last week to the Ward location and they had some in .308 and I think 45-70....

Did u have the 24" cut down or did you get the rifle with the 20" barrel?

I have to housesit a family member's house for a few days.  Under this part of HRS 134, am I within the confines of the law if I were to bring a firearm with me while I housesit?

[§134-23]  Place to keep loaded firearms other than pistols and revolvers; penalty.  (a)  Except as provided in section 134-5, all firearms shall be confined to the possessor's place of business, residence, or sojourn; provided that it shall be lawful to carry unloaded firearms in an enclosed container from the place of purchase to the purchaser's place of business, residence, or sojourn, or between these places upon change of place of business, residence, or sojourn, or between these places and the following:
     (1)  A place of repair;

     (2)  A target range;

     (3)  A licensed dealer's place of business;

     (4)  An organized, scheduled firearms show or exhibit;

     (5)  A place of formal hunter or firearm use training or instruction; or

     (6)  A police station.

     "Enclosed container" means a rigidly constructed receptacle, or a commercially manufactured gun case, or the equivalent thereof that completely encloses the firearm.
     (b)  Any person violating this section by carrying or possessing a loaded firearm other than a pistol or revolver shall be guilty of a class B felony. [L 2006, c 66, pt of §1]

Couple of U.S. WWII weapons from my collection...two of my favorite U.S. WWII safe queens and in mint condition.

1944 Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine (2nd Production Run - 69,052 Manufactured) with M3 Flash Hider and M4 Bayonet, and 1941 U.S. Army Colt M1911A1 (34,954 Manufactured). Both weapons and accessories are all original with correct markings and manufacturers corresponding to that specific timeframe.

That 1911.....

Anybody know any reputable gunsmiths here on Oahu?  Preferably one who deals with 1911s? 

Welcome to the site. That is a very nice mix of handguns for your first three! Always have to have a .22 pistol, high tech black pistol in a great self defense round and a .357 revolver. I would personally also add a .22 semi-auto rifle to your collection. TO me that would be the perfect 4 guns. 

Or he could be like me and pick up the carbine kit for his Beretta Neos, kill two birds with one stone.....
