I didn't get the opportunity to take a pic of the email form.  As soon as I filled out the email form he took it back and moved me over to take a picture and said I was done.

Did you get a picture of the email form? The permit numbers should be at the top.

I went today about noon to get my long gun PTA. I was 2nd in line in the parking lot and there were 3 people in the lot behind me.  In the permit line there were 2 people in the room already and 1 in front of me.  I was there about 20 minutes in line and maybe 5 minutes in the room.  When I got in the room there was only 1 person working the counter and it felt like he was rushing.  I had pre-filled my forms from online but this was my first time in with the new long question form and having the option to email my permit.  I filled out the form with my email address and password but the guy didn't mention I would also need my permit number to fill out the forms online to have my permit emailed.

Anyone know if I can still pick up my permit in person during the normal period pick up period?  Or can I call in and get the permit number on Monday to fill out the online form?  By the time I got to try filling out the form online it was too late to call and ask today.

There were 3 trays of forms on the table in the middle of the room.  The medical forms for Kaiser and another provider (I forget which one) were on the right side of the counter under the camera.

I heard at a LGS that hpd is not putting out forms on the counter anymore--you have to go up to the window to get the forms and fill it out then and there (thus slowing down the process even more).  Can anyone verify this, or is it old news/no longer applicable?

PTAs on the left hand side is news to me but its been a while since I last went down there (lol--like a couple weeks, maybe)

A feline aficionado is continuing attempts to further his agenda.  Wind and rain is spreading lead into the ocean more then is being thrown into the ocean and lost when line breaks??

At any moment, did he say online reg is an option? Like do from your phone while waiting and see who finishes 1st.

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

The store mentioned the option of online registration.  HPD didn't bring up that online registration was an available option.

Went down to register in person since the online thing didn't go well already with the permit.  Only 1 guy working at the registration counter at 2:30 pm. He had to go get more out of state registration forms for the guy behind me since the bins were empty.  One person in front of me and 3 people were behind me within 5 minutes of getting to the window.  The counter guy said there were a lot of people out sick but didn't specify if it was due to covid and that there were a lot of permit applications the past two weeks.  Didn't say if either permit volume or lack of staff caused the delay in emailing my permit.

In the end got it all done but it was not a smooth easy process. The new process while easier is still not as convenient or expedient as I think it should be.  Thanks to all the people that have and continue to work to make it a better process.  I didn't specifically move into Karl Rhoads district just to voice my opinions to him as a constituent or vote against him but since I'm now in his district he will be hearing from me again.

Just received my permit email at 9:22 am.  Guess there are delays for whatever reason.  If I have a chance later this afternoon I will try and call to see if they know why it was delayed till today.

Side note to myself.  Don't juggle work, a house move, and a permit to aquire all during the same week again.

I applied for a pistol permit and signed up for email delivery and yesterday was the day it was supposed to be sent.  I received a similar confirmation email that I got when I applied for a long gun permit earlier and got my the long gun email about mid-day on the first day of pickup without issues.

Can I go in and pick up the pistol permit or do I have to wait for the email or can I call to find out the status?  I saw the other thread that HPD said there may be delays in sending the email but that was also reported to be clarified with HPD that permits would be emailed on the 14th day without delay.

I haven't been there before but address shows a warehouse on Bannister Place.  I get detailing supplies from another business on that street.  To get there you'll have to go from Kamehameha Hwy to Laumaka street that will turn into Bannister street (one way) and then take a left onto Bannister Place.  Google maps looks like it's in the warehouse on the left side dead end in Bannister place.  Lots of auto repair and body shops in that area.  Did not know there was a gun shop there.  Gonna check out their instagram now.

Check with Ace Metal Recycling on Auiki street or Schnitzer Steel in Kapolei.  I've taken cut up shells and flatbeds to both before.  It's been about 2 years since I've scrapped anything though and I've heard with scrap prices down that some materials they will charge to drop off now.  Both were a bit strict about gas, oil, and other fluids being drained, and gas tanks punctured before you get there to confirm they're empty.  So if you can cut it up and get to either spot good to confirm their requirements and if they're accepting that type of material before you go.

I coordinated my cancel along with the person picking up the appointment.  In my experience it was about 10 seconds from the cancel till the appointment showed up on the site for the person to grab.  If someone else is watching at the same time there's the chance they'll miss picking up the appointment but the two times I've done it has been alright.

I think if they had extended the privilege it would have benefited MWR programs with increased revenue.  Before I aged out as a dependent and while I've been overseas I've had access.  For me it'd be a convenience and another source to buy from but would not be my primary shopping choice.  To me only some things are priced well and competitively.  I would still buy things off base and online.

I'd be curious to know what the privilege abuse numbers are if they even track that.  While I was dependent I saw cigarette and alcohol limits implemented because it was obvious from the amounts being purchased it was not for personal consumption or even party quantities.

I'm all for common sense caliber and powder weight limits for aerials.  Fully automatic high capacity cake fireworks and artillery shells are not the tradition that the ancestors intended.
