Depending on the day we can probably weld them up at my shop, then bring them over. Otherwise, I have 2 MIGs and a stick welder that are 110v that I can bring out to the range. No generator, though.

I have one of those walking wheel measuring things. The wheel is small but I've measured grass with it before. Goes up to 1000ft.

I also have a very old survey transit but no tripod or pole for it. I know I can see through it but I have no idea if it still works for measuring.

Hopefully I'll be on KHON tonight and hopefully with few edits/spins. I know the news crews were having a hard time talking to people because many were military and not able to appear on camera.

I think the important thing that came from this is that the mayor recognized that the range is THE most utilized city park and said that he would expedite the permitting process for the improvements.

Chairman Rhoades tried to gut and replace the bill right before the vote, killing other exemptions to absolute liability. Thielen stopped him by asking for the amendments in writing and postponing a vote.

Ito brought up that the exemptions were only passed six months ago and it has not been tested by time yet, so even hearing the bill is a waste of time. Also that it is suspicious that the bill was referred only to JUD, and not public safety. Mr. Gerwig testified that the only result of the exemptions was to increase the number of LIFE instructors from 10 to about 30. This was very convincing for the committee.

Belatti was indifferent, and appeared to be playing a game on her laptop the entire time.

Vice chair Har spoke about her experience taking a course from LIFE and what a great job they do.

It was also brought up by Thielen and McDermott that the committee represents the people and the huge number of people that cared enough to show up and testify in opposition to this bill was the key influence in their deciding to vote nay.

Up until HB 426 came up, the room was packed! Standing room only. After testimony finished, there were only about 5 people in the room.

Vice chair Har said that there were more than 360 testimonies opposed and only one supporting.

To me, this means that packing the conference room when these bills come up for hearing is more important than packing the grass fronting the capitol. I also think they will try to make the more serious measures like HB30, SB36, and SB219 will go to hearing quieter, with less warning for people to get off work. Sending the bill to JUD instead of public safety will only be the beginning of the politico tricks.

I also got to hear an HPD brass testify about replica firearms right before the committee recessed to vote. He said that "any criminal in the right circle can buy a stolen glock for 5-600 dollars, whereas they could only buy a stolen airsoft gun for around 100 dollars." I can't believe HPD came to testify that gun control is completely ineffective. If anyone can FOIA the tape, I would love to see it again.

My friend says mayor wrights has no restrictions but he hasnt gone and bought a gun yet.

It's not that you need to have a certain amount of american made parts on the gun,

You cannot have more than 10 foreign made parts on a rifle/shotgun with a pistol grip. This is the reason saigas were imported with the funky stock, and the reason norinco AKs came in with thumbhole stocks. Century and their family of WASRs are built 922(r) compliant using a bunch of US parts - i believe they stamp receivers in the US and assemble the guns out of buckets of parts kits - country of origin of furniture and stuff being the "country" of the gun.

The ATF technical department decides what the breakdown of the gun is, and what parts are parts and what parts don't even count. Kind of the same way they decide what half is the receiver on what gun.

I believe the AK family breaks down to like 14 parts
Trigger, hammer, disconnector, stock, pistol grip, bolt carrier, bolt, barrel, receiver, front handguard, magazine, mag spring, mag follower, gas piston

Interestingly enough, the saiga-12 has a piston and an op-rod, but the op-rod is not a separate piece. The puck piston is the piston.

Out of this list of parts, if you make your gun subject to the 922(r) restrictions by adding a pistol grip stock- even one of those nonsensical tapco rearward pistol grips, you cannot have more than 10 foreign parts. The magazine has 3 parts, thats why you can't really use it after converting. Thats the same reason tapco took the time to stamp usa on their triggers and why century aks come with tapco triggers. Its ridiculously confusing

They said theres an old guy that does this all the time. The make is "custom" model is "rifle". As far as they know, you may not sell it (ever?).

You must engrave a serial number and register it.
