I spoke to a friend who is more of a gun enthusiast that me and he confirmed some of what you say. It seems that legal ownership and firearm registration are two separate things. So while a Trust may be in charge of the firearm, the registration doesn't care who is the owner legally speaking. He explained that even when a gun store goes to register the firearms, even though they are owned by the business, they are still registered in a person's name. Therefore he thought that putting guns in a trust was extra work that served no purpose, at least not  for the original question. It could serve a purpose of ensuring how the firearms are distributed after death though, similar to a will.
I'm beginning to think I should save the $1.5K ant just have my bud take care of whatever is left....

This is beginning to sound a little morbid, hope you aren't planning on croaking anytime soon.

How is Rowen Young though? Reasonable prices, helpful?

IMHO he's the best. Totally revised my old trust, did all the filing, notary, etc for $3.5K. Might sound high but the trust is pretty big...I highly recommend him....no don't plan on kicking the bucket anytime soon ( :shake: :wtf:

Ready to put some NFA on that trust?

Legal in Hawaii and no need for a CLEO signature.

All bets are off if your wife gets the guns once you check out.  I don't want to be that guy whose guns end up in some "estate" sale.  My hope is to sell off the collection prior to my demise.   :D

I'm seriously thinking about thinning the herd after Hillary gets elected and the next panic sets in.

I've put all my "keepers" in my will bequeathed to specific people.  The "odds and ends" less collectible stuff gets divided evenly between my heirs.

The ammo will go to the first person who figures out where it's hidden!  :D

Yup. problem is the heirs I would want to give my guns to live in the PRC. too much happy horse manure to get the guns to them. Read somewhere I have to get "permission" from Kali to transfer any of my guns ( if they are on the approved list)  to a Kali FFL AND wait 10 days before they can be transferred. Called Kali up bout three months ago and was told if I bring the guns over myself AND they are on the approved list, i would still have to go thru an FFL and 10 days. Either way it's screwed up....that's why I decided to just send them to AK, get diners for them then give the cash to my grandson and grand daughter to but what they like...
