The Georgia U.S.Senate runoff elections are on January 5, 2021.
I read that date, too, but the official info says 2 different dates, so I changed it. Ooopsie!
Now that I go back and look, Dec 1 is for state and local runoff elections, Jan 5 is for the federal runoff election.
It doesn't matter either way, but it's good to be accurate.
Depending on whether the electoral college does its thing on Dec 14, the House convenes to certify the results on the 6th. That's probably going to be the time they discuss the issue and schedule a vote for selecting the President if it comes to that. By then, the new House and Senate will have been settled (no guarantees at this point!!), meaning the balance in the Senate might have shifted.
Then again, if GA can't get its shit together, and the runoff takes as long to count as the general election, we could be here wondering what's going on while the Speaker of the House is in charge of the White House!!
