Wow.  That's a lot of money allocated to do something that violates the 2a and implements a procedure that is obviously structured to frustrate and discourage firearm ownership.

It's a much more sinister situation than just that.

Yes, the "opportunity cost" associated with our gun control laws is a problem -- the money can be spent on better and more effective things.

The kicker is -- WE are paying the state to infringe on our own Constitutional rights.  It's not just with our tax money, but with the fees we pay to the state to acquire and register guns.  Whether that money is used for more essential funding, or the tax payers get to keep that part of our taxes each year, the fact is: we are paying for our own oppression.

It's like the forum members sending Omni a PayPal deposit every week, then complaining that he's trolling us everyday!
