A good reason(?) to get a supply of "cheap" barrels?

Good thing I like bolt action rifles and I shoot slowly.

Ahem, uh old guy, this would apply to bolt action rifles also, no matter how slowly you shoot.
Unless you have a way to slow the bullet while in the barrel. Or maybe speed up the bullet making it spend less time in the barrel.
