 Never really understood this. I find humor in the comments other people leave when the original post has nothing to do with them.

Some people are just gongho! So I salute the ones who are gongho.

In my opinion, a forum troll is like someone that doesn't even own guns or has no interest in protecting and furthering the second amendment, just here to stir shit up and cause arguments.

i fail to see how not owning guns makes you a troll
michael smith (i think that was his name) has posted many times about going down to the legislature and testifying in support of the second amendment, and is not a gun owner
he is certainly not a forum troll

the rest of your statement, i agree with
in those cases, the phrase, "do not feed the troll" (DNFTT) applies
