AR stripped lower registered as a pistol?

Is it possible to register a stripped AR 15 lower as a pistol/handgun and legally put an upper with a barrel shorter than 16" on it in Hawaii?

Don't even try it...only way is buy a grandfathered pre ban ar-pistol.  Dont think they even come up for sale these days

There's a good reason for that:

I can see someday in the future when the police department banning all AR15's because they can be converted to an assault pistol.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can have a pistol AR.

I thought there was a single shot pistol built on an AR receiver that was legal in Hawaii.

Does anyone else know anything about this?

U mean by removing the gas system and making a magazine fed bolt action?

A single shot AR frame pistol is legal. Magwell has to be blocked or mag
Pinned in (no mag releases) before registering.

Either way, it seems like loading a fixed mag through the ejection port would be un-fun!   :(

You can with certain provisions, however keep in mind the OP is asking about a stripped lower that might not have some of the features that would make an AR pistol legal (not an assault pistol) in Hawaii.
