Sounds boring 

Well that's kinda harsh. The AK-47 is the weapon that changed the face of war and is the world’s most popular military weapon. There are approximately 100 million AK's in use and used by at least 50 legitimate armies. Simply put...it works really well, rarely jams, practically indestructible, and easy to fire with little or no training. I own AR's too...just saying.

Nah, I just like flame wars, especially this one.  Quick, someone start a .45 versus 9mm thread!    Yeah, I knew you were just stirring the pot and some folks really get spun up on this debate.

Oh, and to the 50 legitimate armies: the AK-47 serves its function well.  It's a rock-solid but wildly inaccurate infantry weapon, cheap to produce and perfectly suited to equipping a million-man army comprised of illiterate conscripts.  If you want a rifle suited for a professional army, it's M-16 all the way.
