macsak,

I noticed that when I switch between a computer and Tapatalk, I lose the unread items from "Show unread posts since last visit".

When the forum software detects that you are logging in from a different device (PC to Tapatalk or Tapatalk to PC), it is marking it as a new visit.

Is this consistent with what you are seeing?

yeah, it's what i'm noticing, but the problem is, it is on a forum that i am NOT opening in tapatalk
only one that is on my tapatalk forum list (i have only 2 forums on my tapatalk list)
so i am thinking it is logging on, even though i am not opening that forum on that tapatalk session

shoot
that sounds confusing, let's try that again
i have tapatalk, i have registered accounts with 2ahawaii and hkpro on my tapatalk app
i have found that lately when i visit tapatalk to read 2ahawaii, it marks my hkpro.com threads as read even though i did not open hkpro on that tapatalk session
i deleted hkpro from tapatalk just in case this is what is screwing it up
i've only noticed this behavior since upgrading to iOS7 on saturday
there probably was a tapatalk upgrade during that time too, so that it would be compatible with iOS7

That makes sense.  I suspect that opening tapatalk logs into HKPro even though you didn't actually go there to view.  Deleting HKPro from Tapatalk will probaly clear the issue you are experiencing with HKPro.  The other thing you could do is actually read HKPro using tapatalk!   :D  :geekdanc:

yeah, mahalo for that, jl
the problem is that i only read a couple of the subforums at hkpro, and the unread messages thing gives me all the unread messages from all the subforums
i guess i could look at the settings more, but it is easier to just delete it right now
plus iOS7 seems to be kind of a battery hog, so i am going to have to limit my iphone use until i get my 5s

does tapatalk mark your threads read even though you don't open the forum?
i follow 2ahawaii and hkpro.com on tapatalk
lately, i have noticed when i open hkpro, threads that i have not read yet are marked as read
i am wondering if opening tapatalk loads the unread threads somehow, even though i am opening 2a and not hkpro
i deleted my hkpro account from tapatalk to see if it makes a difference
.....TAPATALK is seriously buggy, especially after upgrading my ipad4 to ios7.  FYI!
I have noticed that sometimes threads are marked read - they don't appear in the unread tab - and sometimes they simply don't appear.  Like I'll get a notification on my iPhone or ipad that someone quoted me or replied to a thread, but it's not in the unread tab when I go there.  Sometimes I'll post. New topic, and it won't see it in the unread tab until someone replies to it.  Not sure if that helps, but there's not much to do about it....it's terribly buggy software, they keep upgrading it without fixing old bugs, and they keep upping the price.....terrible service.

I had a serious issue with 2ahawaii.com on Tapatalk yesterday. It would not even pull in any threads after the error.

I had to delete Tapatalk, then reinstall it to fix it.

...yeah, I've done that too, but it didn't fix all the bugs.  TAPATALK keeps updating without fixing previous bugs.....and it sure as he'll wasn't ready to work with ios7.  I posted a few help requests on TAPATALK and never got a response. Then I posted a complaint about it....which got their attention....so they replied twice and then stopped comms again.....they blow.  The app is great to use when it's working ok, but it blows with all the bugs, and the customer service is non existent....seriously worthless.  If I had the money to fund a developer to make a competitor to TAPATALK, I'd do it and make a billion, cause amazingly there is no app like TAPATALK out there.  Forum VIEWER apps, but no forum USER apps.....there's a vacuum out there and I bet someone will cash in on that soon..

Yes private messages works.

FYI: I am using Tapatalk Pro on an IPad IOS7.

You might want to try the following
1. Delete 2ahawaii from Tapatalk
2. Delete Tapatalk
3. Reinstall Tapatalk
4. Re-add 2ahawaii on Tapatalk.

I noticed that things changed around a bit after I did this on my device, but all is working.

ok, it worked
it looks like tapatalk changed me to guest when i upgraded to iOS7, but that doesn't explain how it was marking my threads as read on my computer
it was behaving as if i was logged on in regards to which threads i had read, but not my messages
weird
