Didn't I read somewhere that at times 80% of the people on Maui are tourists?  They may be planning a coup ya know.  Why else would so many congregate there?

I defnitely think we will see the type of scenes going on in egypt and so many other countries right here at home. The united states is still in its infancy compared to so many other countries that all seem to have their own problems at one time or another and I have no doubts we will see it here. Both the first and second world wars were  less than 100 years ago, It is foolish to think humanity, or america and americans have somehow "got it right" since then. I am personally disgusted at where this country is going. Hence the Gadsden flag on my avatar, which is meaningful of people who believed in the constitution and the values we take for granted. People in this country really do need to put down the freaking facebook, twitter, tv.. whatever and take a look around at what is happening.

I've been telling all my friends and anyone who would listen that this was a circumvention of posse comitatus. Military unable to police the populace? No problem. Just arm the DHS and other organizations with the same firepower and viola - de facto army.

Of course, it's not like this hasn't been in the works:

Technology will be apart of it. But look at all the great civilizations: Greece, Rome, British Empire, Spain, Mongol Empire, etc. They all share common traits, which are they got complacent with their lifestyles, they acquired a superiority complex to the rest of the world and felt invincible, and they expanded their empire and resources too far and wide, which virtually helpless to protect themselves from invading forces.

I really do hope we can make it through the next 4 years, because I have a feeling its going to end up very bad.

in this instance is it because of ignorance to history, or by design?  I think it's a combo of both, dumbing down of the populace over 5 decades only leads to very bad things imo.
