just wondering what you guys would pick if hawaii laws would allow only one and why?? i could only hope one day when my dreams come true

i would go with SBR
than i would go buy me a ps90 the way it was intended and all the other guns without the stupid 16" barrel / fake shroud crap

I would rock the CAN because I could add that to a pistol/hand gun not SBR but still compact and also add the CAN to my long gun. If SHTF im strapping potatos onto my 1 AR15 barrel.

Silencer.  SBRs don't really offer a dramatic change in the utility of a firearm.  Silencers reduce recoil, reduce noise, and are generally awesome.  If silencers were legal, you could thread one onto a Tavor and have a suppressed rifle just as short as an SBR in the OAL department.

I voted for the silencer. A SBR really does not interest me, I would rather have accuracy and velocity anyday. But a silencer would be nice. in a SHTF scenario those oil filter suppressors would be easy to whip up to keep quiet when needed. It would be perfect on my 22 charger  ;D

I would have to go with a suppressor.  It would be great to take out some wild pigs on my friend's ranch at night.  I would like to own an SBR as well, but would rather spend the $200 tax stamp on a suppressor.

SBR's are only cool if there is a suppresser on the end of barrel. Suppressers are always cool. and we could have a suppresser day at the range where everyone would have to have a can and hearing protection wouldn't be required and no one would have to be subjected to the blast of annoying muzzle breaks.

In theory they're cool but in reality, they're a horrible idea.

Take a carbine with an already short barrel and cut it down even further.

If you want a 6" barrel buy a pistol and save the $200 tax stamp.



Suppressors on the other hand are extremely useful and shouldn't even be on the class 3 list.

Suppressors reduce the likelihood of hearing damage to the operator.

Suppressors make hunting better in that it reduces the loud gunshots that neighbors and fellow hunters hear.

SBR or suppressor. 

Definitely SBR.  Suppressors are nice, but you are opening up the so called "assault pistol" ownership again in Hawaii.  So SP89's, etc.  All legal again as a by product of SBR.  SBS coach gun.........yes!!!

I'm near split on it, but I'm leaning towards the can.  Much more practical in most circumstances.

Now, if I was able to get both, then I would love to have a SBR .300 blackout with a can on it for my primary HD gun.  So much win.

Suppressor by a mile.

I could shoot .22's at my house (and a lot of other places) without freaking people out.
If I ever had to fire a weapon indoors for self-defense, I wouldn't have to worry about blowing my eardrums.
It would make hunting more pleasant and reduce scaring game away after one shot.

SBR's look cool, but it wouldn't make shooting safer or more pleasant.

I would say can can! But unfortunately no can right now. Would be nice to hunt pigs with a can. Wouldn't have to worry bout scaring the game away just move down the line and keep shooting
