reminds me of when the LAPD shot up that blue truck and shot those two small asian women when they were looking for a grey truck which was of a different make and model when they were hunting Dorner which was a big black man!

NYPD Shooting: Bystanders injured again?

Once again, it looks like the NYPD needs some more range time - it looks like the officers were from 20 to maybe 30 feet from a 'huge' target, and no one landed a shot?  So you know what my angle on this thing is, and every other time I hear of some similar 'bad' LE shooting?  My ears ring with the anti gun crazies railing about the danger to innocent bystanders that would result from an 'untrained' non LE civilian with a carry permit shooting at a 'bad guy'!  Of course there are good shot and bad shot LE and civilians; police inherently shoot at perps more often than civilians; civilian shooters typically shoot at much closer ranges relative to LE; et cetera.  So there are many factors that make the reality that civilian shooters are simply not categorically UNSAFE to bystanders, any more than LE shooters are categorically SAFE to bystanders!  And THAT is what bugs me the most when I hear of events like this!

I'm sure some of the blame can fall on the fact NYPD makes their officers to carry DAO pistols or glocks with the NY2 trigger (11lbs)... If the department expects their officers to have a better hit percentage during shootings, they should give them pistols that the average person can actually accurately fire.  11lb trigger on a Glock is just plain retarded .
