Does anyone know if any other place sell reloading books locally besides WGS, looking for Lyman or Lee. I figure I ask you all before I start calling around or just order it online.

lyman softcover is $20 hardcover $32

hornady hardcover is $30

i just bought both off amazon

to be honest i dont see all the hoopla, both of these newer edition books are very lean on information. its nice to have it printed instead of scouring the net, but im typing this from the pc on my reloading bench so its not a big problem to me.  for instance the lyman only has 6 powders listed for 9mm, and only 6 types of bullets listed(plus most of the choices look to be alloy bullets not fmj). i think they spread themselves too thin with load info on all these obscure calibers.

ive browsed some 70's reloading manuals that had more information on common calibers.

True I mostly download data from powder manufactures..seems most of the books the front half is about their products.but there are lots of good stuff in them too

Thanks for the response guys, ill be mostly reloading .223/.556 & .308 I just ordered a Lee breech lock classic press from Amazon & waiting for it to come in. I have no clue what the hell I'm doing & getting myself into, just gonna wing it by everyone's advice on here, YouTube, & some manuals. I know I'm gonna have to do a lot of reading, watching video's, research. Like they say, only way to learn is just do it through trial & error.

The 49th edition Lyman book has a good section in the beginning about the mechanics of reloading and safety which I found very informative. The rest of it... well I will probably only use a few pages of the book for the calibers I shoot.

As someone else suggested if you look on amazon check out the used and new offers. If you scroll down to used you can sometimes find stuff sold from amazon warehouse deals for a discount, I have purchased a few things that way for good savings and every time they were brand new. Most recently some parts for our pool chlorinator, saved over $100 and it was brand new only the box had some extra stickers and tape on it.

Getting the Lee press was my very 1st purchase through Amazon, 1 thing I like about Amazon is the free shipping they offer if you spend a good amount. Like you said there is some good deals on Amazon.
