instruction period in the am
open shoot after that

safety rules apply, but other than that, as long as it's legal, it's ok
well, i would think that larger calibers than .308 would be silly (and expensive) since we're shooting from 5-15 yards

Really?  Does the same rules apply when 2A runs the it that day? ( no rapid fire, only.22lr rifles?)

oh, i think you have the idea that we are running the silhouette range once a month
we are in the action bay on the left as you drive in

you do need to be a paid member of hdf to join in

Every time I've gone they let me shoot 17HMR in addition to 22LR.
I always ask first though.

Thought I might push my luck next time and ask about 22WMR.
Or is this a bad idea ?

I do the majority of my shooting on that side with my sw mp15-22.  Not only is it cheaper than the target area, but I have much more fun shooting silhouettes than targets.

Just curious How is it cheaper?  You can load 10 rounds so you shoot & faster and you have to pay a $5 fee just to shoot. Other sides are free.

I just meant that shooting .22lr vs any of my centerfire calibers.  I know I can always shoot my .22lr on the target side, but then I ALWAYS end up bringing my larger calibers along as well.  If I tell myself I'm staying on the plinker side all day, I just stick to my .22lr's.

Yea i just got into 22lr. Defiantly a lot cheaper.  Too bad it's so hard to find all days

Nice. I was thinking of getting a .22 revolver.   Is there anything you recommend? Barrel length, brand ?

I'm partial to Rugers, but thats just me.
I have a Ruger single Ten and Ruger LCR in 22
i like shooting the single ten with 5.5 inch barrel.  I really like that gun.
i think for just plinking 4-6 inch barrel is good.
S&W is also a brand you cant go wrong with.
but if you're just looking for a plinker to shoot cheap ammo, any revolver will do the job.
seen a Taurus 9 shot 22 that looked nice.
i also saw a  cheaper Taurus 6 shot at YG, for around $300, but this was several months ago.  its sold now.

Cool. Thanks for the info.  I really like snub nose  revolvers but the accuracy plinking suck. Ill try and find a 4" barrel

yea, my LCR is only 1 7/8 inch barrel.
25 yards is difficult to hit the bullseye with the u notch sights
but i can hit the silhouettes at 50m with it.
but its so much easier with my 5.5 inch barrel.  much more enjoyable at the range.
i wish i could plink in my back yard, then the snub nose would be great at a closer range.

You should try the powder less ammo from Security Equipment it's only 700fps. It will not cycle a semi auto but it should be perfect for revolver. I'm not too sure how loud it is but maybe quiet enough to play in your backyard

They also have the quiet CCI rounds. Suppose to be full charge ammo but quiet like an air gun. Never tried them before though.

In a revolver, too loud for backyard.  in a rifle, it's quieter than a spring-driven airgun.  If you have a bolt, lever, pump or hinge action, no worries about the cycling.

Henry lever actions are designed to feed and .22 cartridge.  Their full-sized rifles hold 15 .22 LR, and close to twice that of the Super Colibri.  Awesome living room fun!

If my wife and I  share a gun to shoot,  do we pay one $5 fee or two.  Is it $5 per person?
