so they do deny walkins?
they only fill the class to the limit?
i was led to believe they cram in most, if not all walkins

I got in yhe class by lining up for standby.  The instructor said that classes are normally booked 2 months in advance but about 15 or so people are no-shows during the day of the class.

If you line up early at 2:00pm or 2:30pm on the day of the first class, there is a good chance that you will be able to get in as a standby.  Bring picture ID as it is required.

I don't think they do just random walk ins.  I almost positive one has to call in ahead of time and request to be on standby for a particular class.  Then everyone shows up on the first day, all registered and standbys.  From what I seen, standbys line up last.  The instructors take in as much as possible that is on the standby list.  It is best to call in and ask.  The best part about the class was, it was free.

> Yes.

they only fill the class to the limit?
> Yes. As long as there are seats available, they'll accept walk-ins.

Yes, that is the same as what I experienced.
I think early on you may have to give your name to them to be put on a list, but I think to get on THAT list (waiting list) you need to be waiting for the waiting list (haha).
I went I think 3 or 4 hours early but already there were people ahead of me.
They do literally cram as many people in as possible; some were standing room only I think. And just sitting on the floor.
Beats not getting into class at all.

When I went, I think 2 or 3 years ago, they were in the process of producing their own hunting tutorial video, showing field dressing, etc.
Not sure if that was eventually completed and if so, whether we "alumni" can get a copy of it.

Haha yeah we did watch the locally produced Lanai deer game care video.  They showed it during class and it was very good quality.

You might want to ask them as they were reluctant in releasing it outside of the classes.

When I took my hunters ed class a few years, it was as a walking, and my dad and I came pretty late and were the last in the line.  Its my understanding that they accept walk ins, and will try to fit as many people as they (reasonably) can into the room.  Not only are they all pretty nice guys, but I'm under the impression that they get more money from the state for every person they certify.  That's a nice incentive.

yeah thanks; I saw that but it doesn't show that actor. I don't think the guy in the clip is that actor (the one in the film with the young hunter).

Anyway, this was just a trivia topic. Haha
