An undercover New York police officer was on the scene when a pack of angry motorcycle riders chased down and beat a Range Rover driver in front of his wife and toddler, two law enforcement officials said Friday.

The unidentified cop came forward four days after the harrowing incident — which was captured on camera and became a viral video that has gotten millions of hits — and Internal Affairs is investigating. This information was first reported by the New York Post.

Ive seen the some of the stories and watched the videos. The only thing the guy in the SUV did wrong was live in the state of NY and not have his damn concealed carry to  shoot the guy who smashed in his window.

The damn bikers are to blame clearly. Driving very wrecklessly, all over the road, sidewalk, on ATV's,  through stop lights.. etc Then some shithead on his crotch rocket decides its funny to brake check this poor guy who was minding his own business driving on a public highway and ends up the biker gets a little too close and gets rear ended. Didn't see that one coming  Next you know people are rushing the guys car trying to open the door. He floors it and takes off, running over some other lowlife and gets chased down by other pissed off lowlife's end of story who beat the snot out of him all for something they caused in the first place.  I have zero sympathy for any of the bikers and none for the guy in the car either, he should have had his shit together and been carrying. Nuff said.

Undercover NYPD detective charged for role in Manhattan biker gang beatdown: Detective Wojciech Braszczok, 32, turned himself in shortly after the Manhattan district attorney signed off on his arrest. Braszczok allegedly lied to police about his role in the beatdown. Braszczok, who insisted he didn’t assist the battered man to protect his cover, was exposed as a liar by a damning video that captured him pounding on the father’s SUV, one source said.

The seconds-long video clip caught the off-duty detective joining the bikers who surrounded the Manhattan family. “It shows him punching the back window, and then as the camera is moving, it catches him maybe throwing a kick at the side of the car,” the source said.

The NYPD released photos of four new suspects in the attack as the probe of the wild Sept. 29 chase and beatdown stretched into a second week.

I was wondering if this was going to get any new attention or would it be covered up because nypd was involved.  Guess it went viral too quick to do damage control

With all the stuff going on, I doubt people will let it go.  People like drama, especially real stuff that does not involve them.  The only way I actually see this being swept under the rug and no one will even raise a ruckus, would be another catastrophic mass shooting or some other attack.

I read that the "other" video showed that some bikers were attempting to pull out the mom. This whole thing is infuriating.
