Is Obama purging the military leadership?
« on: October 14, 2013, 12:22:29 PM »

So far, about 9 top level military leaders have been sacked in a year!  is Obama replacing them with leaders that will follow him push through martial law?

I think, therefore I am armed.

happens all the time with new civilian leaders. The military fall under civilian leadership. One example is the change of the TAG everytime there is a new governor.

You can call me paranoid, but I think this has the potential to be the first steps in declaring some sort of martial law decree. Why else arm the DHS w/ bullet and bomb resistant armored vehicles and thousands of assault rifles.

Dismiss and fire the top military brass they won't go along with your unconstitutional/illegal garbage, and install handpicked sycophants that will be your puppets. Sounds just like every other despotic clown through out history.

This community organizer usurper has all the characteristics of a dictatorial mindset.

Dunno how true any of this is, but some food for thought.

that source you quoted has no credibility just a bunch of rhetoric. There's no solid information or data to suggest this theory. Any PolSci majors here? Or analysts with a solid PolMil background? Feel free to chime in but this theory, if it is,is so wispy that is it on par with a zombie apocalypse without Bradd Pitt in it. Maybe with PeeWee Herman as the main character trying to retrieve his red bike from a circus of zombies -- maybe...

Out with the old, in with the new. Makes no difference they are all polititions at that level anyway. You don't get above o-6 without being a self serving polititions. There are always exceptions but I wouldn't trust any of them to stand up to the president.

Of course, not, the military leadership always fall under the President, hence the title Commander in Chief. No, General Officers are not politicians. The military has always been an instrument of the state; apolitical.

Refer to the Constitution

Section 2.

The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

Ren, you miss my point. I believe we were talking about martial law. Not the constitution. I am aware of the constitution and how the military works. I can google the constitution too, I don't need you to do it for me.

Their mantra has been don't let a good tragedy go to waste.  They have been ramping up their portrayal of this debt debacle as being a "tragedy."  The ensuing chaos resulting from the shutdown and debt ceiling ordeal will surely cause some unrest and give them the perfect excuse to go martial.  Not that big of a stretch when you thinnk about it.
It is what it is.

Heh.  I'm highly amused by the notion that you need advanced degrees to put 2 and 2 together.

All you really need is the barest smattering of the history of tyrannical governments and a cursory awareness of what's been going on of late to get 3.99999.  Well, maybe 3.73291.

This tin foil hat meme is quite possibly the cleverest device to quash legitimate speculation ever devised.  After all, Generals win battles by being paranoid in the sense of trying to imagine what their opponents might do.

Complacency and the poor intelligence derived from that complacency  allowed the Germans to assemble large forces practically within earshot of the Allies just  before the Battle of the Bulge.

I used to have this as a sig line somewhere.  "Paranoia is a survival trait.  You never see an alley cat cross the alley without looking around first."

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

An education of some sort might be good as some can't spell politician.
So if everyone is so convinced about an impending martial law, then when , where, and most importantly why will it be declared?

Not to degrade anyone on THIS forum, but trying to preach proper vocabulary, spelling, grammar, or punctuation on a Hawaii forum is an exercise in futility.

If that's the worst thing you can pick on, then you're losing the argument .....
