80 Percent lower registration.

Has anybody on here finished an 80% lower and actually followed hawaii state law and registered it? If so how receptive was HPD on the registration process?

Not a prob
Just make sure u follow state of H I laws.
BATF do not req  a serial # but HI does.

Your res will say custom as manufacture

Basiclly BATF req's manufacture or importer name, caliber, city and state. To be a min of 1/8" in height and 1/32 deep.
This is only req on tax paid firearms not req on home builds. However HI still req these marking for registration.

Keep in mind 922r parts compliance for rifles, but pistols can be 100% built on imported parts.
Such as FAL, hk or ak etc.........

It took me 2 hours to register a home built UZI 6 years ago. They didn't understand the laws at the time.
I think I was one of the first to manufacture a home built from a kit in HI. They had the local BATF come down to examine the rifle.
But now its a lot easier since I explained the reqment for home builds ( tax not paid) firearm.

I have since registered many home builds .

If you read up on the laws 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and HRS134 and know the laws. You can actually school the guys at the window.
Then they just ignore further comments and refer you to the Attorney Generals office.
It's pretty good that I have BATF letters to prove things in my favor.

What is BTAF?
Is this all that I need to have engraved on an 80% lower to be able to legaly owned once completed?
How may numbers should a serieal number need to have on an ar lower?

for home builds no serial numbers are required by BATF (federal)
Only Hawaii (state) requires a serial number for registration.

You can make up your own s/n!

Seriously?  You're talking about completing an 80% lower, transforming it into a firearm, and you don't know what BATF is?

Oh, wait... you're joking.  I get it!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

No
The process to acquire the lower to build as a pistol would be the same as a handgun, three trips to HPD.

458 SOCOM. only 10 rounds in that STANAG magazine
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.
