Mossberg sights
« on: October 27, 2013, 09:26:37 PM »
Ok guys, dusting off the ol' shot gun that Ive had since high school.
A new stock has been installed, now Im looking at sights.
Should I go ghost ring or fiber optic?
Anybody have experience with one or both?

usage?
i have ghost rings on my remington, but that's because they came that way stock
i can see how they would help with slugs, but for shotshells, a fiber optic would probably be more useful because you can pick it up easier in your eyesight

Good question on usage.
Primarily it will be used for skeet and trap at the range.
Also there is the last Saturday of every month in the afternoons.....(HDF fun shoot)

For what your doing I would take a look at fiber optic sights like the William fire sights. It will allow you to shot sporting clays when using the front sight
And while using the low pro adjustable rear sight it will help you with getting slugs on target out at distances.

skeet with ghost rings kinda suck.
my mossberg has buckhorn style rifle sightsonly because its a 21" slug gun. dont care for it either. id probably choose ghost ring over these.

bead sight all the way. i got a clip on hi viz fiber optic on my 870. winner winner chicken dinner. it even works at night because my led weaponlight illuminates it.

fiberoptics are great.
